Come on Grizz, you are an old Airwarrior pilot.  Did it ever stop you from coming back the next day when it was just one map?  The route between B83 and C83 was well worn, but the fights continued and because we didn't even think about the idea of other maps, we seemed quite content with it:)

That's true.  But in this day in age of internet gaming, and internet ADD, the average gamer needs more now.    :aok

What does a map a good map?

1. landscapes

    - not same green background - could we have same maps but with different
terrain background colors and textures and trees?

it is not the geometry of the map that annoying but the same terrain background colors etc.

    - not too much canyons but not too few (as in mindanao map) some with navigable rivers that could
      bring to fields

    - seas with cliff as Dover cliff with boats to sunk

2. strategic targets

    - as i said many time in the past, small targets, that could be trooping too, will add to the game the
possibility to break the hordes frequency !!!

these targets could be related with eny or other game's properties

So you're saying that if there was a plane editor and plane team they would absolve responsibility of making planes too?  That's basically what you're saying with this post.

Yes, I understand that it is a resources issue Captain Obvious, but ultimately, it's their responsibility, not the players'.

I think that if you're going to whine about maps and that HTC has provided tools for you to use, then yes it is your
responsibility to "fix" YOUR problem.  They provide maps, if you don't like em, DO something about it.

within CAP, when we complain about something, what we're actually doing, is volunteering to fix that of which we complain(i found this out the hard way....)

so here's the deal......if you don't like the map(s), then go download the terrain editor, and make a map to your liking, then submit it to htc for approval.

if you're not going to do this, then be thankful for those guys that do spend their time and effort to make these maps for the rest of us.......

just because it bears repeating.

There was great fights yesterday morning with Bish 24 hitting rook 23, and vice-versa.
The fights are there, it's what you make of it.

Geesh ... you just don't get it. He could make 10 maps and have them all accepted by, but that wouldn't change the fact that he thinks that maps sucks and should be taken out of rotation. I think that once a map has been accepted, HTC won't release the source so someone could make changes to a map to make it better.

Personally I agree with him to a point. There are certain maps that are offered that just don't cut it for the MW arena and this is one of them. When that map is up, the fights are far and few between because population numbers drop, fields are too far apart for the population that is usually present in the MW. So, regular MW players log in and see this map (like me) and say ... meh ... let me go see what the LW arenas are offering.

iunderstand exactly what he's saying. i think you don't understand what i was saying........so i'll simplify it.

Exactly ... His solution to the problem was "get rid of the map", but you seemed to have missed that, and inserted what you think his solution should be.

didn't miss it. if you also caught my first response to him, i asked for proof that "most people" don't like that map. that proof has not been provided.

there will be someone that will complain about any of the maps in rotation. there always is. that is why i put up what i did. you've been around longer than i, and you know full well that there are people that work their tulips off to give us decent maps. hence, rather than just complaining,  design a map that he likes, and thinks everyone else will like, and submit it as a possible solution to maps he doesbn't like.

 that's all i'm saying.

Tell me ... how in hells bells is him creating a map gonna solve what he perceives as a problem. Now, if HT were to agree that if he created a map that would REPLACE the map that he hates, then I can see your point, but I don't think that HT would go for it.

Maps should be rotated in a specific arena(s) for what the arena has to offer as far a population. MW's population, IMHO, does not support the use of that particular map for reasons stated. The solution ... look at the maps and see what maps best support the arena and it's users and then determine the maps that will be rotated in that arena. For all I know, HTC is already doing this ... so take that stupid map out of the MW rotation.

As I stated before, I hate that map for MW and from what I can see from the last couple of days that it has been up, the total population that usually is in the MW has dropped considerably since that map came up. To me, that tells me that there are a fair amount of people who also don't care to fly on that map in the MW and they either go elsewhere or just log off.

you just never know what could happen...as of right now without another map for htc to consider and the low number of main arena maps available...the will most definitely be no, the map will not get removed.

personally, it would probably be better suited for lw blue/orange since there are complaints about suitable gv action maps in the lw arenas...and those complaining won't consider going to the mw arena.

There are really only two maps with a short GV spawn and I have not saw ether one in months. I got bore with the same maps and have not been on as of late. I used to play 4 or 5 hrs a day 4 or 5 days a week. I am even considering dropping my account for the first time in five years. However I will wait to see what changes are coming along first.

Htc has been incredibly fortunate that players have stepped up to make maps.  They have been able to shift the responsibility to the players quite brilliantly actually and then have their bbs ankle humpers reinforce this policy.  Quite genius and I commend them for getting others to do their work for free.   :)

Wow ... what does that have to do with the price of tea in China? ... have you been working in a closed non-ventilated garage with the motor running ?  ;)
