I yearn for the canyon fights in the old AKDesert (Pizza) map.
Same here.  Whatever else is good or bad about that map, those were really fun. The outer ring of vehicle territory with only occasional CV air support was fun too.

There are really only two maps with a short GV spawn and I have not saw ether one in months. I got bore with the same maps and have not been on as of late. I used to play 4 or 5 hrs a day 4 or 5 days a week. I am even considering dropping my account for the first time in five years. However I will wait to see what changes are coming along first.

for the gv guys...this is a valid concern.

Yup ... those looooong range GV fights on the desert sand were great.

Wow ... what does that have to do with the price of tea in China? ... have you been working in a closed non-ventilated garage with the motor running ?  ;)

to answer your 2nd question first...no.....but cars run clean enough, that one could for very short periods of time.

my point was/is that htc apparently does approve player built maps. which brings us back to.....if he doesn't like the map that's up, then fix the problem. design one he does like. ...almost forgot....someone could go win the war, and get it rotated off...... :devil

Watching that round silently fly forever into the distance and then that hitsprite flash and black smoke over a tiny black dot is the cat's ass.  Watching em turn around and crawl away trailing smoke too.

That's true.  But in this day in age of internet gaming, and internet ADD, the average gamer needs more now.    :aok

The average gamer these days is still the same average gamer they were 20 years ago. The differences are we have been catered to more than anyone else as a gamer group et al and it shows because every average gamer from time immemorial is a whiny, brat about something or another. The main difference is that it costs less these days than it did way back then.

I've been reading all the threads about what people like/hate about maps.  I've started working on a medium-size ("small" for LW arena) map that hopefully will fill many of the wishes for the majority of players.  It will have CV action, a nice place for GV-only action, mountains, canyons, a layout that I hope will promote good fights (air and ground) spread out across all three fronts, and look good enough to just go flying around in.

I'm not doing it because I hate all the maps and complain about those that I don't care for much.  I'm doing it because it interests me, and I want to give back to the community (HTC and the players) that have given me so much fun these last few years since I discovered the game.

What he said!!!

You gents who want the map gone going to provide the time and energy to make another one to replace it?

There are so many restrictions in place for MA maps, and the time it takes to create one can be awe striking.  Some may be better than others, but until we get some news one, we should have a nice well rounded rotation, full of good, and bad!

So you're saying that if there was a plane editor and plane team they would absolve responsibility of making planes too?  That's basically what you're saying with this post.

Yes, I understand that it is a resources issue Captain Obvious, but ultimately, it's their responsibility, not the players'.

There is a skin editor yet only one default skin per plane...

correction sir...by definition default means without any user intervention to change it...not that it is the only choice available.

Right...only ONE DEFAULT (as you stated and I quoted).  Of course you can have many different choices, if choices are given.  I was merely pointing out that stating there is only one default skin is a bit redundant.  ;)

Look at your quote:
There is a skin editor yet only one default skin per plane...

Sorry dude...it's late and I'm feeling a bit pedantic at the moment.   :D

Besides, this wish thread deserved to be derailed a little more.   :lol
