Radar Floor
« on: March 21, 2011, 05:46:31 AM »
I know HTC changed the radar floor a few times in the past year. I trying to figure out what is the current radar floor? Is it still 65ft AGL or did HTC change if after that again?

Thanks

The last time I checked it was 65' AGL for dot and 500' AGL for bar.

I think it's 65 so that cons on a CV deck don't show when they spawn, and the deck is just under 65 feet off the water.

250ft outside radar ring.

I think that maybe they adjusted it so dar bar is also lowered. That was last time I recall folks cried out in sudden anguish, then were silenced....

I wonder if it's published some where...  I know it's changed a lot over the last year or so...

Okay then, show me one that represents the current settings.  Using the search, the last one Pyro posted was 65ft, and I know that isn't right.

I am not trying to be mean, but if you post something like this, then provide link to a forum post, or official announcement from HTC.  Your less than useful post has done nothing but increase your post count, and prove your "value".  It's clear by the several different answers included so far, no one is quite sure, and it's not easy to find.

That's the only one I was able to find as well. That's why I made this thread.

Unless something was changed in the last ~2 months again (and there is no indication for that), it still is 65ft for dot dar.

well...there are 4 people from htc who regularly post in these forums...if the pyro search only revealed the 65ft announcement then it could have been hitech, skuzzy or sudz...i know sudz hasn't posted anything to do with radar that would leave hitech or skuzzy...did a search under skuzzy and got no good return...search for keyword radar with user hitech found this little tidbit...note the date:

i hope that is helpful in answering your question...and you're welcome.

The last time I checked it was 65' AGL for dot and 500' AGL for bar.

Does that seem sorta backwards to anyone else?

I think of bar as a lower resolution info.  (i.e. We know they are somewhere in the sector, but we don't know where.)
I think of dot dar as high resolution info. (i.e. Ah hah.  We know where they are now.  Here is their dot and we will track their position.)

Seems like bar should be the lower threshold and dot be the higher so you have a graduation of information depending on how high (how visible to radar) the target is.

But dot is only if you are in radar range.
