There used to be this one place where I played, it was on this large hilly forest area that had wood building scattered around, was amazing. Had to bring cleats for it or you'd get swamped. Sadly it went down with the economy, but I've been supporting it's restart. It's run by a Vietnam vet who is an amazing guy. I was a volunteer ref for them 2-3 times, got paid in free food, paintballs, and free sessions.

Get a tippman 98 custom..be happy with it and never change markers.

I've played ALOT I have a gun thats shoots 25 balls per second, but guess what, if the weather isnt perfect the balls swell and shrink.. if its not perfect i have a 700$ blender.

If you want to have fun, play for cheap, and have reliability. go with tippmann.

I've thought about getting back into it, I may this summer I use to be pretty good, it's kinda like tanking in AH

ive played against pros and got my arse handed in speedball haha

Ah Paintball!

When I first started there were no semi autos. Anyone remember Nelspots, Splatmasters and Sheridan rifles?

Most of the guns were pump action.

The first true semi auto came out about the time I stopped playing, the Tippman 68 Special.

Wish I hadn't gotten too old and fat, or I'd still be playing.

I still bust out the Tippmann 68 Carbine from time to time.    Most laugh at it, until they cannot hear me shooting and they're out.      But I remember Nelspots and they were very reliable.

I do!  I had a Nelspot and later a Sheridan pump.  Then there were the early Tippman autos that used the 5 round plastic stripper clips and the Bushmaster pumps which were lighter and smoother then the Sheridan knock offs.  We didn't play the lame speedball courses back then, we had acres of woodland and played capture the flag on a platoon vs platoon level.

Great fun!

I used to build silencers out of PVC pipe and foam.  Very effective.

When I play paintball I'm really aggresive, I try to get halfway up the snake ASAP, then move up even farther. It's alot easier to shoot people that aren't looking at you.

I've gone a few times and had a blast, but the most fun I had was the first time I went.

This was way back when paintball was still 'new' and as a result most of us had to rent our equipment.  There were no automatic guns, and the vast majority of us used paintball pistols that held ten rounds and a small CO2 cartridge that was good for about 40 shots.

It was after a snowfall and was just above freezing, and we were playing capture the flag.  This was in the woods in the middle of nowhere, and they even dug trenches and built a small 'town' out of plywood and even had a few tree-top towers, although those were closed because of the snow and ice.  We got mud EVERYWHERE!  Our play area had to be a good 4 or 5 acres, and there were about a sixty of us total, maybe even more!

I was wearing a black trench-coat with a red inner lining and walked up to three enemies that were down in a trench.  They looked up at me and one said "He's already dead" and they all turned their backs to me.  I looked down at myself and saw no paint.  I looked at a referee who was literally ten feet away and he shrugged his shoulders at me so I popped three rounds at them... hitting them in the back (and one in the back of the head!  OUCH!)  The ref pointed to all three of them and said "You're OUT!"

Later on I was pinned against a tree with two guys coming right at me.  Paint was splattering the tree all around me, but somehow they kept missing me.  I went to shoot and the round went "PLOOP", traveling about ten feet and bouncing off the ground!  My CO2 was dry!  I quickly unscrewed it and was struggling to get the new one threaded on and one guy came running towards me and yelling "I've got him!"  Right then HISS went the CO2 and I turned and popped a round at him, hitting him right in the left eye! (Thank god for goggles!)  Then he yelled "NEVERMIND!" and I was able to get the heck out of Dodge before his partner caught up to me!

My blaze of glory happened during our first game.  We were half way to the enemy base and I was out of paintballs.  I guess I got a little itchy with the trigger and went through my paint a lot faster than I had anticipated!  So I decided to make a run for it, taking off running and shooting blanks at the enemies.  It took them about 20 seconds to realize nothing was coming out of my gun and they all charged after me.  I was dancing paint balls as they splattered at my feet but somehow none managed to hit me!  I made it to their base, climbed the hill, grabbed the flag, and ran back to our base just as fast as I could, winning the game!

Yeah it was a blast!  The guy we rode with made the mistake of driving his dad's brand new Cadillac and we got that thing so muddy it wasn't even funny!  He probably got a good butt-whipping for that one!

Best advise I've ever seen you give :D

I have 2 Tipman 98 Customs (1 stock, and one with a 16" 32 Degrees barrel).  I love paintball, but it has died out around these parts. :(

Im on/was a semi-pro Scenario and woodsball team. Havnt played in about a year cause i joined the Army. but it was a blast. We'd travel around my state and go to 24-26 hour long scenario games and we'd compete in woodsball tournaments.

What questions do you have?
