some time ago I would put myself in 1v1 fights in the MA evrytime ,but after fighting 1 or 2 minutes , there´s come the cavalry and u screwd, so now when I want 1vs1 fights I go to DA. some rare times I go 1v1 in MA if:
*im not in a base take mish (very rare)
*Im not needed by my squad somewere else (rare)
*only if we are far away from enmy or friendly bases
*if we are in medium alts so me or you have space to run off from enmyes that may come and break the party  :devil

I thought it was a violation of vDOGFITE's standing orders not to engage in 1v1 fights because the vGuys don't possess the necessary skills and testicle fortitude to engage in such activities?

Rich46yo posted some gems in that thread as well, must have been friends with ol' Roxie.

DeBrody, I agree with the gist of your post although I would imagine that we have all sinned at one time or another in this regard.

Juggler, I found your post to be enlightening and will now have to review my own fighting ethics since I probably have run and returned in a way that is unsporting. I haven't decided if I fully agree or disagree with it, but I will definitely be giving it some thought.

...on the other hand I also can appreciate Lusche's point as well. Perhaps it really depends on how and why you get satisfaction from this game. Some people prefer to fight and others prefer to survive. I am not sure one is better than the other, but I prefer to fight so I tend to be more sympathetic to DeBrody's point. Of course, I die a lot more than I would if I flew with a primary aim of survival.

As a new player I have two options. I can attempt to maneuver with the enemy and hope he is bad and I win. I also have to hope that nobody else is near him as I make myself a big slow turning target in my P38. Or I can HO him and attempt to end the fight instantly and it doesn't matter how skilled the enemy is (not true, some people can merge without me being able to get guns on them) and I also get to keep my speed up in case there are any other enemies around. I have no way of knowing what I'm doing wrong when trying to maneuver against an older player so attempting to do so is pointless because I won't learn anything from the encounter. This is evidenced by the fact that I tried to fight FLS yesterday in the TA but lost very badly every single time and he has no way of telling me what to do to fix it and I have no way of figuring it out myself (other than spending years beating my head into the wall, which isn't an option IMO because I can have fun now by HOing or BnZing).

Well, to tell the truth, a lot of the vdudes are only can fight as long as they have more E than you, and dont know any other move than the loop.
But in the other hand, a couple days ago vWoodi gave me an excellent fight. I could turn a bit better(110g), he could climb better(c205), it was an energy-fight, but was the most fun. When he lost his advantage, he tryed to gain more due to ACMs, and he did it successfully. When he finally ran out of energy, he wasnt running away but started the rolling scissors and tryed to overshoot me. I never could hit him.
I respect and <S> him. A lot of guys could learn from his fighting spirit.

Edit: if you never fight when the chances are (almost) even, you will never learn what to do when not you are the one with more energy.

Hoff, I empathize with you considerably. I have flown for a little over a year now and it was not long ago at all that I felt the same way that you do. I will say that if you make the commitment to put away the HO shot (okay, okay I still use it occassionally) that you will find ways to get kills. There were many times when I had no idea how I got killed or where the enemy con was that was shooting me, but over time I began to figure it out. I still die (a lot), but at least I usually know why I am dying now. If you are not in a squad I would recommend that you find one. Many will take you and help you learn (JG77 is an option if you like Luftwaffe planes). I didn't want to fly in a squad for a long time, but I know that my flying has improved by being around others and learning with them. But, even if you choose not to go this route, just be commited to learning and having fun. While there have been many nights of frustration and pain (virtual) the satisfaction when I finally get something right or manage to get on someones six is exhilirating (especially if I manage to land my shots too). Anyhow, stick with it, find some friends and you will get through the initial period. What comes next I cannot say, but I am sure some of the better players can fill in that part.
