The K-4 was the 2nd plane made?  That one surprised me a little.  I'm now curious to what plane 7 was as it gave me an invalid model number... :headscratch:

Some model # are used fro things like chute, gunner, ground gunners, special items, excetera

I'm not positive on this, but I think the coding for the 'running' to the hangar and the planes still exists, I think that you do it so quickly that it seems instantaneous.

I seem to remember an option to adjust how fast you 'run' when I first started playing this.. what.. five years ago?  I just set it to max and didn't think much about it.

Of course I may be remembering wrong too.

heres the pony from way back:

That's probably a very early beta test screenshot. I don't recall the pony EVER looking that bad.

Both the P-51 and Spitfire got redone during AH1's run.  When they were redone to AH2 standards those were the third edition graphics for them in AH.  As far as I can recall those were the only two aircraft to be redone during AH1.

That said, I don't recall it ever looking that bad either, so you are likely correct about that being a beta shot.

http://www.combatsim.com/htm/feb00/aces-high.htm

11 year old article on AH 1.00, back when it cost 29.95 a month USD and 52$ Canadian.  Great times.  There are some screen shots and a list of available planes as the game was then.

Well, regardless of your "memory", it did.  For quite a while as well.  My CC had a monthy 52-56$ charge on it for over a year as I recall.

Morpheus made a cool vid a few years ago called ah past and present. It has scenes from ah1 and ah2.

Morph was and still is the best film maker in AH. He really had a knack for making films.
