I have been waiting for BF3, I play BFBC2 and it is awesome! It requires teamwork and skill, not one person can carry a team like in CoD. That being said CoD is a nice quick action packed game that is filled with gun shots and RPGs across the map.

Battlefield 3 will not dethrone COD, period.

I feel like the strategy/tactics and patience, as well as knowledge of the game that battlefield will require won't hold the attention of the COD crowd.

Remember, Call of Duty's main audience is much younger than Battlefield's, and in most cases are looking for a shooter that they can jump into quickly, learn quickly, and shoot stuff.

CoD also is alot more competitive than BC2. I have never played with anyone cheating on BC2, and it seems like call of duty just boils down to whoever has the biggest intardnet penor.

I'll say it again, looks don't kill in the gaming industry but they can help.  And people can wish all they want but whoever becomes the next COD-like FPS franchise will not be anyone that is already out there and that we've heard of already.  And with FPS it's never been about realism, but kick-arse-fun since wolfenstein and UT.  Players have never cared beyond the surface about if cars and trees are realistic as much as they care about those cars and trees have unrealistic jaw-dropping hollywood-style explosions everytime you blow them up.
