Not from where I was sitting.

SUV screams by on the right ... then hard breaks for slower traffic.

Econo car screams by and doesn't realize the SUV had to break hard.

Econo car slams brakes on causing skid and then steers to the left to avoid possible rear ender with SUV ... which cause the rear end to slide to the right and the car to the left.

Econo car tool ... very lucky.

Looks like he hit the breaks and lost control.  There was no parking lane where he parked and he had no visibility when the sliding started.  I dont think he would pull a stunt like that without being able to see if there was on coming traffic.

What I see is a guy gaining the van ahead, you see his brake lights come on (which wouldn't happen with hand brake application) and he starts to slide. 

Again, no skill, just luck he ended up next to the curb.
