I agree. The more functions I can map to my joystick/throttle & rudder pedals the better. Tying to dodge trees with an M3 punching A or D, wondering what gear you are in really reduces the immersion factor. Yes, I know an M3 didn't have a joystick but it didn't have push button steering either. The joystick provides smoother turning than pushing keys on a key board.
I will get use to the new sights but it would be really nice to at least have the option of using the joystick/throttles and rudder pedals to control the vehicles. Many of us bought high end joysticks so that we didn't have to rely on using the keyboard so much.
Oh jeez I just thought of something. I hope they aren't thinking about changing it so you have to use the keyboard for airplanes too. U to go up. D to go down. L to turn left. R to turn right. Nawwwww
