Crashing
« on: April 30, 2011, 04:27:38 PM »
The game keeps crashing randomly,  while I am in a tank a plane sitting in a tower or moving between bases.  There really seems to be no correlation between crashes.  Sorry I can't give you anymore information but it is frustrating.  I can tell you that I am running the program as an administrator.

I ran for a number of hours last night with out a problem.

Are your computers "clean"? Running a defrag may help get things back in line and ease the load on the CPU. Run with out custom sounds to see if things run better.

I am still getting the crashes as well.  They became less frequent when I got rid of the custom sounds, but they still seem to pop up at the most inopportune times.

twintail...you have a massive paging file usage...almost 1/3 of your total memory...i hope that's not off a fresh boot, might be a process native or 3rd party causing issues at least partially.

i'm using a realtek hd audio chip too...but my drivers are from 8/2010 and i'm using custom sounds without any issues...could be something, could be nothing.

HiTech is looking into the problem.....

Seems like there may be a problem when swapping arenas.

I completed a HDD wipe/OS fresh install/updated drivers for hardware/installed newly downloaded AH.exe......same issue when swapping between arenas.

I was running the exact same setup with custom sounds at 60 fps with no issues or crashes before the patch. Also if it was a ping issue it would be a host lost connection message, not a game crash.

EDIT: My ping is moving between 60 and 70 right now.

Also the crashes do not happen when just switching arena's. by the sound of it many people are crashing without cause from multiple places in the game. (planes, tanks, tower, lobby, switching arena's, etc)

All of my crashes have been while in game.

There were a few that happened when on final approach when I put the flaps down, so at one point I thought it might be related to the flaps sound.  But then I had a few crashes that definitely weren't flap related, so I am at a loss to isolate and cause it to repeat.
