I've always loved my 870s personally. Can use the thing as a walking stick, boat oar, and a weapon without cleaning.

870's all the way!  I've been shooting the same ol' Wingmaster since the 80's, and bought an Express for my son a few years back.

I was tempted to purchase a fancier shotgun a few years ago for shooting skeet, but then found out that ol' pump can keep up with all the others on the range.

Everyone knows us Italians make the best shotgun.

John Browning would beg to differ. I present to you the finest autoloading shotgun in history, the Browning Auto 5. It wasn't made for 100 years for no reason.

Mine are a Light 12 guage chambered in 2 3/4" for field use and a Magnum in 3" for ducks and geese.

Best. Shotgun. Ever.

Yep. They are cheap and you just can't go wrong. Easy to fix, and if you want a new/used one, go to KTP sometimes under 250 bucks.

I hate all that tacticool stuff on shotguns. With all that stuff on a home defense gun, you have a much better chance of breaking something or pressing a wrong button heh. Give me a 870 with a PG stock and 18.5" barrel, that's it.

We've got a M1912 in 16ga... it's technically our 'home defense shotgun' I guess, I've never shot it before I don't think... it needs cleaned, bad. Want to go skeet shooting maybe a couple of times this summer

Apparently a cut down 12ga version of this was used in WWI, WWII and Korea... cool stuff

I agree with everything except the PG stock.  Real guns have wooden stocks.  I'm partial to my full-length barrel too, but that's not a huge deal.

I have these in a 20 and 12.  My family has had them since before I was born.
They call it "common sense", then why is it so uncommon?

I " use " to be a firm believer in Browning sweet 16 and A500.

There's a new sherrif in town........

The Benelli Super Nova

I have owned 870 magnum, mossberg 835, browning A500, and nothing can come close to this shotgun. Benelli makes the finest shotguns in the world and hopefully some of you either own one or are buying one. It would be a very smart buy for anyone who hunts a lot.

BAR? My deer rifle is a BAR in 30.06, stalker. LOVE IT.

This, with a Leupold scope

I also have a Browning BPS Pump in camo, never even been fired. Now that I think about it, the only long guns I have that are not Brownings are a Remington .22 bolt action for plinking, the Mossberg mentioned in the beginning of the thread, and my Grandfather's old LC Smith double barrell 12 guage shotgun, circa 1900 or so...... old gun, made for black powder shotgun shells. Don't dare fire it, even with light field loads. Damascus steel barrells, exposed "rabbit ear" hammers.... I'll take a pic of it....

Benelli makes a 5-star peice of equipment, no doubt.... I've shot em and they're nice.

But there's nothing like the feel and sound of a Browning Auto 5..... it's like a classic car that can still qualify on the front row of the F1 grid....  :aok

I have a Belgium Browning A5 (FN MFG) that i love......Definately great guns........actually, i think anyone that loves shotguns should consider it manditory to own one   :aok

I have quite a few,and have always loved shotguns, and high end rifles.(I have a Parker SXS thats one of my favs, along with a Kreighoff and Beretta O/U) 10+ as a guess, (I didnt work at the gunshop that i mentioned earlier for the money, it was more to "support my habit" :D) It was fun seeing the wife shake her head back and forth everytime an unrecognised guncase came home with me from work. :lol

If i think of it, ill snap a couple of pics of the Drilling that my uncle "liberated" in France in WWII.

<EDIT> German Drilling  16ga (European) on top and 9.3X72r Rifle

I still think that 30yrold Mossberg 500 that dad gave me on my 12th or 13th Bday is my favorite though.

I just picked up the Nova for my wife, her first firearm. (They didn't have the super nova tactical in stock). Beautiful shotgun, hopefully will be at the range this weekend.
