The Green Beret just sat there all this time saying nothing, stirring the fire with his d*%k.

Nice.  :lol

Although I was under the impression that you gave a 'green beret' to just about anyone. Takes quite a bit more to earn that tan beret. When you're one of only a couple of hundred members of the world's original special forces unit, the same unit that trains everyone else, including your navy seals, you can count yourself as a pretty hard nut...

BUDS(Basic Underwater Demolition School) is the start of SEAL training. I do believe the world's orignial special operations unit is the British SAS. SEALS evolved from the US NAvy's Frogmen of WW2.

The green beenies are Army Special Forces.  Everyone got black berets because of Shinseki and the Rangers were might pissed because of it.

Yes the Special Air Service and the LRDG (Long Range Desert Group) first operated in North Africa. There is also the SBS (Special Boat Squadron) which operated in the Aegean. This was commanded by George Jellicoe, the son of the Admiral of WW1 fame.

Well, all I can say is that I'm glad I'm not in, anymore.  One less thing to be pissed about :D

I was in basic shortly before the beret affair.  Even then I thought it was a stupid idea.  You can have a PC on in less than a second and it's usually on correctly.  How long does it take to get the beret on and up to regs?

Well back in the day, it didn't matter as much.

If you were wearing one, there weren't too many others that knew if it wasn't being worn properly and if they did, they wouldn't have the balls to tell you  :devil
