Even funnier last TitanicTuesday was when the BOP's attacked a base near StratCity then launched a follow-up attack on StratCity. All the defenders ran to StratCity while I NOE'd a goon in from the opposite direction for the capture and forced StratCity to grow legs.  :devil

im  sorry you see things differently. We fly together as a group because thats the way we see that a squad is suppose to function, as a group, not as 20 1v1 fights. If people dont want to get killed by hordes then dont up from the field. But then everyone is going to say that we are attacking an undefended base. So im not really sure how a squad is suppose to function as a group if we go to a base that is defended, everyone sees that as hording, but when we go to an undefended base that is base stealing and no fun for anyone. So what else is there to do?

The problem with your "squad" (should really be called a mob) is that you guys are just too big for your own good. I really dont see how capping a field with 20 guys while you spam 10 goons into a town is "fun". Where is the challenge? I just don't understand. I guess the real fun for you guys is pissing everyone else off. I mean thats gotta be it right? What other satisfaction can you possibly receive from these smash and grab jobs? Most of you end up flying all the way to base, making a few circles, maybe a try at a vulch or 2, and then you land when the base is taken. I don't get it.

Have all the fun you want!

Sorry my idea of "fun", as well as many others, doesn't include getting ganged/horded by a large number of planes. Whether those planes are D3A's or they are flown by "skilless dweebs" it doesn't matter. That is why I personally would NOT have upped at the field to defend.

The OP posting a film of him and "his gang" jumping single planes is going to bring these kind of comments because for most players it is "poor game play" and is one of the reasons for arena splits.

but you go ahead and have fun  :aok

Is there a cartoon in this somewhere?

The really funny part is they didn't even cap the place or attack the town at all really for that matter. They all just flew around before being widdled down; I smacked two of them in a wirbelwind myself. (not a chance in hell I was upping anything flying into that.) So yeah I'd say the sole purpose there was just to send 20 guys over a field and try to gain cheap kills so... mission accomplished I suppose?

The funniest thing about this video is seeing the Muppet willingly take part.

ack-ack
The D3A mission also had 109 escort. It was all in good fun to try to spark up something on the map. They didn't take bombs, or even try to hit the base, it was all about giving the red guys something to shoot at. And guess what? It worked! It sparked up a good fight until the destroyer of all things good in AH named AUTO decided to kick us out. It was fun while it lasted.

The mission had no point other than to be fun, it had a few slots for 109s and about 20 guys flew the d3a1.  Nobody dropped any hangers, nobody went over the airfield or town.  It was just to go pick a fight.  Any of the defenders could have used their own field for cover and to be honest, that spitfire as well as the handfull of other defenders should have used the boom&zoom technique.

The one advantage that mission had was the fact that nobody is used to fighting against the D3A1 and those who fought against ours treated it like any other plane.  They mostly upped turn fighters and tried to turn with a plane that only had one thing going for it.  And that one thing is the ability to out turn anything.
The lesson to be learned here is that even a Brewster can boom&zoom when fighting against the D3A1.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

God, reminds me of the Midway FSO a couple years ago when my 10 F4Fs had to single-handedly fight off over 120 D3As.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

You'd be surprised. We got a LOT of single-ping pilot wounds early in the fight, and there was nowhere to rearm once out of gas and ammo (nearest base was one of the carriers about three or four sectors away).
