I bet they're "the Horsemen", a 3 pony aerobatics team (well, more like synchronized flying, I don't see them do any wild moves) but they sure fly a tight formation, even through loops!  I think they'll be performing at Mirimar San Diego this summer. I wonder who pays for all the avgas? :airplane:   I'm taking a tour of a B17 tomorrow morning at Gillespie field in El Cajon, only $5. Woot!
The Kanonenvogel had 6 rounds per pod, this is not even close to being open for debate.

Possible but more likely from one of the other smaller airfields - Anoka County airport has a WWII collection and so does Holman Field in downtown St Paul.   Holman had a Catalina that was severely damaged in a storm a few years back - flipped I think.

I didn't know Holman had a collection! One of my offices is right next to the field.  I'll have to run over and check it out.

I think its called the Minnesota Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, and they've held air shows there in the past.   But wait, now I'm thinking they moved to a more southern metro location, but I can't recall the name of the field.

Better check the website first!

EDIT:  It's Fleming Field in S St Paul.   I sat inside a Catalina restoration in their hangar a few years ago, talking to the guys one Sat morning.

I live a mile away from Dobbins ARB. Lockheed Martin builds F-22 Raptor's here and on any clear day, you can see one in bare metal flying around base for a quick test flight followed by an F-16 Falcon chase plane.

The Flying Wing always makes an appearance at the Wings over Gillespie airshow in El Cajon.  If no one has been to that airshow yet, it's actually a pretty cool one.  It's a rather small one but you can walk around the airfield and there are a number of WW2 warbird restorations going on.  The last time I went about 6 years ago, I got to walk around a F-82 that was being restored before I think it was shipped off to Texas to be finished.

I lived on Fort Bragg in the early 90s and there still were units of Uh-1s and they would fly about on exercises and I have to say that is one of the most distinctive sounds. All I wanted to do back then was fly a Huey.
