Battlefield 3 FTW! Did anyone notice the big ACTIVISION sign on the building that Sgt. Black blows up in the video "Good Effect on Target"? I also noticed that Activision wasn't very original in their plot:
They took the American campaign from Homefront
They took the helicopter chase scene from Bad Company 2
They even stole an entire line from a Battlefield 3 ad: "Good effect on target"
Nearly everything that the SEALs performed was physically impossible (e.g., floating right by a sub and not getting chopped up in the propwash, having radio communications right by a sub and not being detected, blowing up a very large charge underwater and not dying, blowing up a very large charge inside a submarine and not tearing it in half, not getting burned by a ballistic missle shooting off right by your face).
I found it typical of the pre-release hype that CoD gets, and I know how dissapointing the game will be 6 months after release. Furthermore, it won't matter to Activision, since they'll be hyping up the next CoD game by then. All they've done is rehashed old gameplay four times in a row- these aren't games, they're map packs!
However, Battlefield 3 is packing a new engine, new gameplay, new maps, and a completely original campaign. It will feature pilotable jets, helicopters, tanks, 4X4s, and more. I can't wait to put it on an upgraded PC!
