I remember seeing that trailer a while ago. I think it's cool, haven't seen a space horror flick in a while, this looks sorta' promising to me.
The best sci-fi is plausible sci-fi.
meeehhhh ho hum. Been there done that it was called ALIEN
Uh... this is a little more like a mix of Blair Witch, Paranormal Activity, Cloverfield, or Quarantine set on the moon. If you watch the trailer the only similarity to Alien you will see is space and aliens. It's not set in the future in deep space with space marines toting giant guns getting slashed to bits. It's another one of those "found footage conspiracy" films but I think it's pretty fresh and they're not bad for thrillers.
Cloverfield sucked
Eh, I take it for what it is. I enjoyed it and tried not to reflect upon it as much as I could. Shoot'em up/slash'em up style movies are more fun if you can stop being a jaded self-appointed film critic for an hour and just have fun. These movies are designed to thrill, not give all the smarmy people in sweater-vests wearing horn-rimmed glasses something they can attach a certain number of stars to.
I have a really hard time with a lot of the shoot 'em up movies that go beyond any concept of what's realistic (As far as weapons capability and the like) but I really enjoyed Paranormal Activity as, well, its not like there is an accepted level of realistic for ghosts lol.
Yeah, you're right about that. I do lose the immersion when people go flying after getting shot and seeing bottomless magazines. Automobiles apparently fueled by TNT and rocket fuel distract me as well.
The A-Team and the RPG scene stick out in my mind as some of the worst EVER.
