MY flight sim?

Did I say that?

I have MY copy I purchased, but basically, like here, I rent.

Competition?

I don't think I said that either.

I did say REALISTIC as in REALISM.  AH never flies in real weather, for instance.

I took Commodore-64 BASIC programming once.  That's my extent of programming.

I did mention I want to build a new machine, new PC.

Have a nice day.

You Sir, need to fly in some special events.  the MA's are the lowest common denominator.

Ah, sarcasm.

I totally missed that.  Guess you got me...

I'll stay in the game.  I think it best for me to stay off the BBS.  Any further discussion of any kind on any subject is pointless.

Cheers

Your right... pointless. Just as I thought.

at least someone pointed out that   WOWP ( World of WarPlanes ) is a completely different game from WOP ( world of Planes )

if you like aces high, about the only thing you will like in WOP will be the graphics........... but as far as gameplay, graphics do not make........

Thanks for the info gents.  IIRC I tried to download the demo of wings of prey to check it out at some point, and during the extraction process on the file, my system locked up, my file system corrupted for some reason and I had to reinstall windows.  Never got back to it partly out of superstitious fear. ;)

Glad I wasn't missing much.  Thanks for the heads-up on what one can probably expect out of WoP.

from what perspective? all the little switches and buttons you have to push just to light up the engines? lots of fun but, consider what would happen in the main arenas if it took 5 or 10 minutes to get off the runway...500 people avoiding any real fighting because they don't want to have to take the time to get back in the air. not to mention how much easier it would be to take a base and you wouldn't even have to kill the hangars.

for those "not realistic enough" people i have to wonder how many of those you spok to actually spent any time flying an a-10 or ka-50...i'm betting their idea of "more realistic" has more to do with the buttons and gadgets than anything else.

They dofight each other Warthog against Warthog, it is not all missles.  Yeah, makes one be more careful---no HOs or RAMs.

Couple guys are active duty crew chiefs on the A-10 over in the Iraq theatre or were recently, fly, and comment about the real jet.

Ka-50?  Plenty of Russian pilots that really flew in the Georgian war.

But, I bet that still is not real enough.

Biggest issue are the vulchers that annoy the crap out of oneself in the unlocked servers that mess me up or kill me while on the tarmac getting ready.  Actually, that vulching action will get guys banned forever on most of their servers.

As to WOTs.  Dumb!  The write up of WOWP and their website, equally so.

Vulching????  Finally a small thread of commonality between the two games.  :lol

Rather humorous to talk of 'realism' and out right ban people for vulching or head on shooting, etc.

I seem to recall reading about the demise of Emil Lang and his wingmen (vulched on takeoff), also about Sailor Malan (HO'd), Tommy McGuire (HO'd Zero's all day every day he could) and the entire 8th AF policy on capping airfields where 262's operated from.. way vulched.

I would be willing to bet that if a plane with guns catches an enemy plane on takeoff roll or parked on the tarmac, he would shoot it.
I would.
Hell of a lot better than tryin to find it in the sky and saddle up.
Apparantly a lot of 'real' combat pilots did the same.
