Don't Move Your Controls So Rapidly

I've never had this message pop up until this week.  Now I get this message all the time.   I've lost four aircraft to control freezes this week.   I'm not doing anything different.  Anyone have advice on this?  Thanks

what do you use to control in the game?

i use a mouse, and ive found that if the cursor speed is loose, then it can cause the plane to respond in sporatic ways which will cause the game to pop up that msg.


if your using a mouse, tighten up your cursor speed, then see if that fixes your problem

No, I'm using a joystick.  Now I am flying Zekes, so I'm throwing the plane about a bit.  I also use the keyboard for my views and tend to hold the keys down as I'm looking around.    Still, never was a problem before.  Thanks for trying Yyrannis.   Can anyone else help?  Thanks

I used to get that message a lot, due to my 3D-Pro joystick spiking badly.  It seemed to only happen on my pitch axis.  You might want to take a look and see if your stick might be spiking at certain
movement positions.

Perhaps you need a powered USB port.

Maybe your stick is just broken.

We could possibly still help you here. What kind of stick are you using, have you checked for spiking, etc?

Well, I followed Joachim's advice and tried to adjust the damping and I could see that spiking could be adjusted on that screen.  However, the controls were grayed out/inaccessible.   I don't know what a powered USB port is.   My joystick is a Logiteck Attack 3.  Its quite loose now but was still fine up until very recently.  Thanks for trying to help Joe and everyone else.   If the advice is to go ahead and replace the stick, then suggestion on a type of stick would be welcome.  Thanks again. Maybe you moved the damping to much, you can move the stick and watch the levels and get it close. Then again I never had a stick that spiked

Make sure you are in control mode 1, (planes & default).  If so, make sure that your stick shows up, where it says "Select Controller".
This will be found on the game clipboard.  Options/Controls/Map Controllers.

Make sure to highlight the axis you wish to adjust.

Different sticks have differing qualities of production and different tolerances. Some are just "bad" and spike all over. Some are "good" and shouldn't be spiking.

On a bad stick all you can do is adjust the damping/deadband, etc. On a good stick you shouldn't have to, and it may be a power or USB hub issue.

What stick are you using?
