Yes, it saw combat, but it was undoubtedly one of the worst warplanes of the war.  Absolutely dreadful piece of crap.  Best service it did was to be a large, tempting target for strafing Allied aircraft that spared more useful aircraft such as, well, everything else.

All of those were vastly superior to the He177.  Do you know why?  Because they WORKED!

Get your head out of your rectum.  The He177 was an utter failure of a weapon system.  Every aircraft you listed was very effective in its day.


I agree that a better German bomber would be a good addition, but that bomber will be called Ju188A or Do217E, not He177.

Why, because they arent all late war monsters? If anything, that is a list of some of the best planes in the game imho.   :rolleyes:

So at least they didn't spend the whole war on tarmac unlike the He177. The He177 is know as the "Flaming Coffin." At least they never got engine problems regularly.

Karnak: I believe in a semi-recent He-177 thread somebody brought a lot of info out about later versions of the He-177 and how it was used in larger numbers for level bombing on the Eastern Front for a while. This would be after much of the engine problems were solved (but, if I recall the discussion correctly, not all of them solved).

I wouldn't say sat as a target was the only thing it did because the later "fixed" (or "reworked" or whatever you want to call it) variants were much more reliable.

In general I don't want to see it in AH any time soon, but I wouldn't rule it out completely.

I've seen footage of russian paratroopers jumping off bombers after riding on the wings since there wasn't enough room inside.  This might make an interesting addition to field captures.
