I wouldnt say it happens that often to me, but nothing is worse than that high-pitched scream of a kid thats not getting what they want. It gives me a headache VERY quickly

I have a two year old and if I can take him he will act like a two year old (the most well behaved lil guy in the whole world! Not that I am bias  :t). I would rather be told an age limit esp. if it was a night out without the lil guy I may not want any little ones around. I wish they would make more "Mommy/Daddy" or "Cry Baby" matinees at theaters and allow kids to be kids there and then put an age limit on the other times! Our theater has times for toddlers at movies but, they also, let them in other movie times.

It's actually proven that the scream of a young child not getting their way is the most distracting/annoying sound a person can hear in daily life. (Of sounds studied).

People were given math problems with various sounds: baby crying, phone ringing, young kid asking for a butt whoopin', etc, etc. The young child screaming came out as most distracting.
Landing is overrated.

Good idea. They might lose some business, but they'll win back customers they lost because of wailing brats and all that goes with it. I once walked out of a restaurant before taking a seat at the table because a woman was openly breast feeding her baby - letting it all hang out right there at her table. I've also seen a diaper change in progress in a restaurant, within a few feet of the nearest table. Then there are those people who go for a night out but don't have a baby sitter, so they turn up at a restaurant around 9pm with a baby in a carry cot, then get upset because people are talking in the restaurant and that might wake the baby. Kids running around, climbing on the furniture etc... It's just not acceptable.

It is state law in TX that a woman can breastfeed anywhere she likes.  Seems pretty sensible to me.  Some women are more private about that sort of thing than others, but it sure seems weird that something as natural and normal as feeding a baby has to be hidden away like there is something strange or horrible about it.  Baby needs some food, feed the baby.  Pretty normal sort of thing especially at a restaurant, I think.

If someone gets weirded out about my wife feeding our kid they can go somewhere else, especially in TX :)  Fat people porking out on ribs and pecan pie makes me feel a bit ill, but I'm not going to tell them to go hide in a back room or leave a restaurant because of it.  A baby being fed in a restaurant is a heck of a lot more normal than a 500 lb porker stuffing 30 pounds of all you can eat ribs down his or her pie-hole.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

:old: I could not have said it any better.  BTW, one can only see that breast if and only if they make it a point to look at it.  Focus on your ribs  :old:

Mmmmmm riiiiiiibs, I know what I am doing for lunch now  :rofl

I like this idea, especially for an upscale restaurant.

Hmm I wonder what happens when the first ethnic minority 5-year old wants to get in.
