The thing to do is get some guys together and take the base from the air. (same guys who are dying with you at the spawn).

This will leave the spawn campers with no place to land thier kills.

Is camping a spawn something the game developers want, or is it a bad side effect of the current spawn routine?

If the idea is to give the advantage to the defenders of a base, then spawning a small fixed area gives two or three tanks the ability to shut down a spawn. Perhaps that's what the developers and majority of players want.

If however the coad should promote fun, fair fights, then work arounds like "become a bomb tard" or "spawn somewhere else" miss the point I think, and perhaps a change to the spawn routine would improve gameplay.

I would be in favor of a spawn area the changes position and size based on the proximity and number of defenders at the spawn. If the defenders drive up to the spawn point, it shifts to another loacation, maintaining some minimum distance from the defenders. If the defenders cluster in a single point then the spawn might move to their flank or even behind them. If defenders form a line, then the attacking Spawn would be pushed back towrds it's base.  In this way defenders would be encouraged to form a defensive line that forces the attackers further from the base, but at a fun and fair proximity to the defenders to promote fun fighting. Also, the defending spawn could then be set relative to the attacking spawn. This could create a moving front that creates strategy in coordinating defensive GV position i.e. speading out near the enemy spawn to maintain the new spawn point. A loss of front integrety runs the risk of the Spawn moving back forward to the defenders flank of even behind them.

Pyro could write this in a hour.  :salute  :D

The best way to break-up a spawn camp is JUST DONT UP! The camper will get bored and go somewhere else. Its just that simple! Bringing eggs to a camp will only encourage campers to spawn back in and set back up!

The V85 and V135 spawns are one of these fights  it just goes back and forth.

Of course this is just my observation!

Got it.   :D

Agreed vinkman, there is an inherent issue with the GV spawns system. Several infact.

1) GV's can't operate at an airfield without aircover, which draws enemy uppers like watermelon draws flys. This reduces a lot of places where a good GV fight can occur.

2) The current spawn system favors the defenders much to heavily. A few tanks in the right place can stop a full armored battalion's worth of tanks (I've seen it done)

3) the spawns that can yield the best fights (even numbers/position) are the spawns that are prone to camping. V85 and V135 can be some of, if not quite THE, best fights in the game. They are also both notoriously difficult camps to break.

I think I will do a search to find and join a MMO Tank game.  Then I'm going to fly a plane in there.

Air combat isn't the be-all and end-all of this tame you know. Infact, I'm willing to bet the game would just about grind to a halt without M3's and 251's. No offense to the goon, its a great plane, but its hidously vulnerable to anything in the air more dangerous that a B5N.

We would probably see nothing but two types of opperations: Open "yeah, we're hording, what of it?" hording, and NOE "no, this is just a coordinated strike, not a horde" hording.

The B5N can be plenty lethal, Soulyss and I have downed Lancasters with the Kate before. I laughed so hard, I almost wet myself.  :lol

:devil Just poking you with a stick Jager.  I know there is room here for everyone and truly I am glad the GV guys have a home here.  It is not for me, but I would not ever take that away for those that like it.  I have heard a few guys say "I suck in a plane so I like the GV war", well, I really really suck in a gv.  See ya in this Friday's FSO homey, I sure enjoyed it last week.  Great squad you're in there mate,  :salute.

Saw a guy land 59 kills in a tank last night.

He must be pretty good.

I bet when he's in a plane he does a lot of vulching too.

Awesome.
