Having never been in an MA tank battle before, I figured the best thing I could do was charge the enemy line at TT in a new Tiger II. I shrugged off two bombs from a 110 and then went full speed downhill toward the sound of the guns. I was close enough to some that I'd just fire as I drove. One shot was enough to kill most. I killed five tanks in a minute or two. I ran out of targets and decided to fallback to regain my bearings. I did a 180 and thereby exposed my rear to a hidden tank who proceeded to shoot it. I died. I think I'll do it again tonight though as it was fun.

hey rich, do you have those air to ground weak spots for every GV? i would like to take a look, seems interesting, i unloaded 5 shots in a M4 today wich means 10 40mm rounds and nothing happened, not even a lil smoke  :frown:

Are you diving near vertical on a tank before firing? You have to penetrate - where most do a shallow dive and actually just get deflected rounds.

For purposes of aircraft cannon, most of all the IL2, here are the top portions you have any chance of penetrating.
(Image removed from quote.)

You'll have to come in steep and get close. I set convergance for the 37s at 250 or 200. The biggest target, and all the yellow is 40mm thick armor, is in the front of the roof and under the mantlet. A frontal attack may actually be your best bet. I'll try to get all armor thickness diagrams done in a few days.

Assuming it is modeled like this.

negative, from the side. First shot hit in the blue box, second shot hit the ground before it reached target. 3rd shot was the killshot, in the red box.  i came across him taking cover behind a hedgerow, pretty much spawned right on him. had my range set at 16.

from the front? At what range?

It should be noted that i fired at him from an angle. From the way my round hit the red area, i believe my shot penetrated his armor and went straight into his engine, and would of went out the back of the tank. Since it hit his engine i believe Its why i was able to kill him with 1 shot to that specific spot.

Does anyone know if vehicle armor is coaded for individual weak spots?

example is a 20mm roof a "solid" 20mm roof  or is the hatch a weakspot etc?

My own post.  Does anyone know?  That would make a pretty big difference wouldn't it?

A shallow, frontal attack will be rewarded with a turret round to the face.

Without fail.

That is all.
