If you're going to order, order fast if you can.  The sales guy at my dealership today said he tried to put in a Kona Blue order yesterday and they wouldn't accept it.  The tsunami knocked out the plant that made the metallic flake pigment used in automotive paint and Red Candy and Lava Red were both whacked as were Tuxedo Black.  He did say that the Red Candy would be coming back at some point but wasn't able to get a Kona order in.

I'll be heading up to Englishtown on Saturday if you want to carpool up, Cap.  I'll be up there for the doubleheader Corvette Challenge race taking some photos and don't mind an extra mile or three added to the car.  Maybe talk Camaro with my coworkers racing team ;)

There are quite a few sitting around on lots but they're hard to find.  Sit down with your dealer to locate the sucker that you might want in their system and you might have to chase it down a bit.  The Brembo brake package they put on the GT's are worth it in the tires alone!  The wheels, suspension upgrade, PCM computer changes, tires and brakes/rotors are a huge value for money with that package.  When I was considering a GT coupe it was a "must have" on the list for sure.  The stock brakes aren't any slouch especially if you're wanting to run in a straight line and the rest of the stuff doesn't matter except make for a stiffer ride but I'd intended autocross and road course track days.  Actually I intend that on my little sixer anyway.  I'm restricted to track days with various auto clubs because I have no intention to put in a roll bar in my little six banger.

Hope you can swing the deal you want man.  I'm excited for you now that I'm done being excited for me.  :x

one of the things i was talking about though, was the "looks" options versus the "functional" options. i like the rear wing, and the front air dam on these cars. it wakes em up, and kinda takes me back to the 60's cars. but i can't afford to put the "looks" options on, and the functional ones too.

I reckon do your deal with the mechanical stuff - it doesnt cost them much to swap over parts for a factory order, and will cost you plenty to do the work later. LSD/brakes/whatever options you want. the cosmetic stuff you can get fitted later if you want it. remember you're going to be driving it, not watching you drive it ;)

im' gonna call em first thing in the am. the problem is my point of contact is off tomorrow. if i can't get that blue, i got no problem with black, as.....well.....you can't go wrong with a hot black car.  :aok

i gotta work till at least 3 on saturday.....probably be putting the cylinder head back on the crv.

good point, about the suspension tuning, ecm, and other changes....for me to add that crap after the fact will cost me far and above the 1600 they option it for......hell...just the wheels and tires would top that. besides....there's a 2009 i pass every day on the way to work....he's got the shelby scoops on his 1/4 windows....gonna stop and ask him where i think.

black on black, go fast, stop fast, turn fast....the only slow part is the fuel gauge.  :devil

as for the rollbar......i think ford makes some very nice ones that are pretty well integrated into the system, and shouldn't interfere with the roof?

FINALLY!  They're both home!  Sort of, until I move next month to a new one.

I have to say that ordering and waiting for a car you want is much more romantic than the paperwork nightmare of actually buying the darn thing.  By the time it was done I wasn't even happy anymore I was just tired from going over with a fine tooth comb every little detail and making sure the price was where it was supposed to be.

That said...

This is my baby!  Won best of class couple weds. ago.

Since owning the car....added, Corsa Exhaust, American Racing Wheels, Petty Garage Strut Tower Brace
INJEN Power Flow Intake System, R/T Mats and Trunk Carpet, 3GCustomz stamped and chromed engine half covers,
and what I consider the most useful mod along with the BT stuff a BT Catch Can.  You wouldn't believe how much oil and oil vapor that thing keeps from getting
into the intake.

Shuff has seen this already.  He's a member of the Flying Circus Boards.  I just had to post picks of the most popular muscle car by consensus ya know...it hadda be a MOPAR.  :aok

I like everything but the wheels  :aok

I really do like the Challenger's lines, it's a sexy machine.

I put a hundred miles on the Mustang tonight.  Reacquainting myself with how to drive a stick, rev match on downshifts and getting a general feel for the car.  Found a few inclines to do hill starts, drove to/from work a couple times which involves a hill start on a left turn and really started to feel comfortable in the car.  Didn't even need the hand brake when I got back to my place on the hilly stop signs I went out of my way to be sure my route took me on.

I'm a very happy camper right now  :D

Oh I almost forgot.  3 hours into owning the thing a big thunderstorm was coming through and I found myself in a parking lot being pelted by hail stones.   :bhead  Fortunately they were very small roughly BB sized and didn't do any damage.  Still, it's the principal of the thing.   :bhead :bhead :bhead

Golfer what a coincidence!   I was otw to a Cruise tonight when a Severe Thunderstorm popped up!

Rained so hard we were doing 30mph on the freeway!  Then.....all of a sudden I heard hail and saw it on the
hood.  Fortunately it was small and didn't fall very long.  I got home...put the R/T in the garage and dried
her off.  No damage.  That is the first time I had to use the wipers.   Took me 5 seconds to find the control!  :rofl

Golfer....if you're serious about appearance products let me know.....I know the best to use....even window cleaner.
The show guys gave me tips and products that are considered best in the business.  They are no more costly then off
the shelf stuff.

Congrats on the new addition!  And get a catch can for that Mustang!  Don't gum up the intake.

I'm all ears on recommendations for things like that.  I haven't had a vehicle I've really intended on taking care of.  I had a couple of ho hum cars from 16-22 and have driven a pair of Silverado's since so vehicle appearance hasn't ever been a major consideration outside of the occasional drive through gentle touch car wash.

I'd like to do better than that for this car, at least make the effort.  Anything you have to suggest I'd like to hear.

(did I mention, nice car?!)
