Better effects when ships are sinking
« on: July 30, 2011, 10:31:12 AM »
Some water effects would be a nice addition when ships are sinking.
Also, better damage/fire/smoke graphics added.
At least have water doing something.
Maybe add oil slicks.

P.S.
Perhaps sailors jumping overboard, maybe even some on fire.

AND SHARKS! We need sharks for when the boat goes down and all those sailors are being cooked in oil.

+2 to more effects.
-over 9000 to the sailors. I don't like the idea of that, and also would be more resource consuming than the other things.

Another reason for no sailors. My grandfather was on the Indianapolis when it went down, he lost his 2 best friends to the sharks. He was afraid of bodies of water larger than a pool after that (good thing he lived in NE).

seriously, how often do you look at the cv sinking.  perhaps use the coding time to bring more planes, rather than waste it on the 3 seconds it takes for cv to sink.  hell I would rather have them fix the trees canopy  stop ap rounds thingy.

i wish that when a cv is sunk, it would ether..

A. roll over and sink.

or

B. begin to lift itself up as it does now, except it bow would snap off at an angle, and both halfs would sink. basically the titanic effect.

I think the "special" effects department in general could use an update.

honestly i useally watch carriers sink after torping them its the cherry on top and always instant satisfaction/accomplishment when you get to watch them go down granted sinking is already pretty nice... at least they dint just vanish but agreed "spec effects" could use a notch up such as a true 3d flame not a X flame(look from the top you will see what i mean) and possibly bullet holes in strafed buildings/hangars

yea they need to implement the trees so that its not a solid object when you shoot at the branches... if enemy is hiding behind trees or bushes...you have an opportunity for 1-2 shots to clear the obstacle, then you are able to hit the gvs when the trees ard him fall.. dunno abt the coding bit... but it sure as hell will give skuzzy lots of work to do..sorry skuzz.. :D

but they need to beef up the rocket attacks... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-D3ffvIC1Q

There are too many trees on a map to make them destructible.  It is too much data for the server to keep track of the damage state of each tree.

Also, Skuzzy is the systems administrator, hitech and sudz are the programmers.
