Went offline and drove my P-39 to 800 yards away from front of Tiger I (110mm approx hull front at 10 deg slope). Marked the spot (no, not that way geez  ;)). Exited...drove out a M4 (76) and parked.

Why so complicated?  :headscratch:

Ok I don't get this data, If the M4(76) in game can penetrate the Panther's front lower hull beyond 2k, why does real world data suggest otherwise?

I understand our round does - and I understand that, point is it contradicts real world data.

Also its 55 degrees not 30.

Concur with Squire and Tank-Ace, it is the M62 that is modeled in the game.  Check the stats in the hangar.  Weight, MV, and penetration.

You like charts and graphs Lusche, here you go. :)  At 2000 yards, it's still going 2000 feet per second and can penetrate almost 3" at 30 degrees obliquity.

I do have to ask is that a wiki chart. I believe in the snailmans research. He does post sources and there is non here. To all fairness what makes this better then a respected and learned from researcher of ww2 stats

 :huh

You should take another a look at the chart Pyro posted. All the information "is there". It's an original document, a primary source.

Data:

APCBC:                          HVAP:
100 yards- 142mm           239mm
500 yards- 131mm           209mm
1000 yards- 119mm         176mm
2000 yards- 102mm         125mm

Squire, the HVAP (APCR, Panzergrenate 40 (PzGr 40)) numbers are far too high. ~170-180mm would be a more accurate range for U.S. 76mm HVAP rounds, depending on sources.

Also, its easy to score hits well beyond 1200yds, even beyond 2400yds if you're good. Its just a matter of practice and expierence (some of the guys here have fired more rounds than the entire Panzer Korps put together  :lol).
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.
