Enjoyable, realistic and disciplined mission, I would like to fly the B-17 again in frame two.

Tango and I made it back, if you pull your settings way back you can cruise (albeit slowly) for quite awhile, Sport though made it to land but had to ditch.

I made the call long before the event started that I was going to push the escort to the max of there fuel limit. If they would have been engaged before target we would have been on our own for the rest of the trip. But that is what brings the challenge to this type of play.

I for sure thought you would sit of the fields till the first BarDar then launch with plenty of time to get alt. When I saw ya's up patrolling over the channel, I knew we had ya's!

Luftwaffe CO

I'm switching sides for the remaining two frames and will be leading the Luftwaffe's defense effort.  Look for orders (PMs) shortly regarding this Sunday's frame.

Time to Altitude - Wind

I'm going to use "wind" to get the bombers to altitude quickly (basically a huge updraft), so that the fighters (both Allied and Axis) aren't sitting around for 20-30 minutes at the beginning of the frame just waiting for the buffs to get to altitude.  Once the bombers are at altitude, I'll turn the wind off and then the fighters can launch as desired.

@Ace8 - DT/Weapons

As noted in the old frame #1 post, for the second frame the Luftwaffe has the choice between getting equipment with either droptanks or external weapons.  We will be taking the drop tanks (PM will explain why).

@Devil505 - bardar/radar

My intent was to use the range setting for bardar as a crude early warning radar so that you'd have a general idea of where the Allies were coming from (but not "AWACs see as soon as they take off" early warning).  It doesn't behave as I expected it to however; sometimes it seems to work, sometimes not.  For Frame #2 bardar will be disabled but radar (aka dotdar) will have a range of 40 miles with a 4 minute update cycle.

The increased radar range will help , BUT just remember that it has a 4 minute delay. We tested it last night and it gives you a good idea of the area they may be in but not their heading. So you still have to look for them but it puts you in the right direction.

Just PM'd the orders out to the Luftwaffe.  We could use two more good Bf-109 or Fw-190 sticks.
