Wait, so the AG launches from the CV group when the commander gives the "OK"? Or does it always travel alongside the CV as a seperate "group" that can be controlled by a different person?
Then we run into the problem of people seperating these groups or "hiding" them for whatever reason.
-Assault groups could attach to a CV group at or near a port until within 20-40 miles from an enemy shore. from there the AG can only move within this maximum range from the shoreline. The CV can stay as a separate entity after this and can more anywhere BUT within say 15-25 miles from the shoreline.
-The shoreline minimum is for CVs for all times unless terrain does not permit this rule.
-The shoreline maximum is for all AGs.
-CV groups CANNOT capture bases for any reason.
-AGs CAN capture bases and are the only way to take a base from sea.
-This will allow the AG to attack and do its job while the CV (as long as nobody moves the damn thing away) supports the operation. This will make for more initiative to kill the SBs and press for more air and ground action.
Work on this idea and there may be a good game plan for this <S>
