Who is the best tanker you have ever fought?

Dr7 Rondar and COLLEEN butcher would go on my list but he spawn camps me everytimr

My list of tankers would be Belial, Poolfool and Rondar. Knits have a pretty awesome tank corp: Hooter, Dr7, HC, Shufly, oddball - any one can kick back a GV fight to a spawn and clamp it down.


This being said - The majority of the time I am GV'ing is to kick someone out of a town and back to spawn. Don't get angry at me when I can spawn snipe you from 2-3k away, blame the other half that camp with 60 at a spawn (rooks? yeah guilty at 135), although you guys do put up a nice fight at 136 when you actually spawn more then 2 in there, only problem is the second a fight get's denied its automatically "bring bombs".

Most will whine i'm a Camper, however they failed to mention 5 minutes before there were 5 tanks in town and I can clamp down a spawn faster with Hooter then any other pair in the game =P

My list is basically anyone who can 1 shot you from any range under 3k, and most of the time on the move for that matter.

IL-2 was considered the "flying tank" in WW2 due to its ruggedness/dependibility on taking bullets and still flying.

I dont tank much, dont kow much of the tankers, bur IraqVet is fairly good in aiming and an attacking-type player unlike those who spend their entire day at 135... Maybe not the bestest, but one i respect. Dr7 and Belial are also on my list.

As for an actual skirmish, it has to be the LTARs as a whole, though it was years ago. Back when the Tiger was still the absolute king of tanks. I was defending a town from behind a hill with a forest to about 10-11-o-clock at short range in my Tiger with JoeDog31 in the air dogfighting and giving intel. 5 LTARs started rolling in after me in Tigers and we fought for a good hour with them using all sorts of different tactics to try and get me (I think if they'd taken JoeDog down, I'd have had a much harder time)...I somehow managed to fend them all off and landed ~35 Tiger kills, 2 Panzer kills, and I think an M8 they snuck behind me after they stopped trying when one of them ran out of perks. Amazingly enough (and unbeknownst to me), another guy in a Tiger had stopped a full assault on the opposite side of the base, and landed 32 with me.

The best part was the discussion afterward...one of those rare moments where everyone had fun regardless, we congratulated and shared our sides of the fight and how things worked out instead of calling hax and whining like girls. Good days.

The other thing is that tanking 2 years ago was far different than it is today.  With the tanks being much more individualistic with regards to gun sights and zoom ability, an average Joe that knows how to work the German tank sights will win the show.  The updated game is far different than than older versions of AH.

Campers are the lowest common denominator when it comes to "talent".  Anyone can camp a spawn, get the enemy tanks zeroed in, and fire away.  It does not take much talent to move the reticule up and down the height of a tank (near side or far side of spawn zone).  Some of the same names mentioned in this very thread as being "the best" wont EVER been seen marching towards an enemy base in a tank, instead you'll find them camping a spawn or sitting "defensively" on concrete daring not to venture out and be engaged.  That is not "talent", that is cheap, cowardly, and gut-less.  The "name in lights" has captured the awe of too many and it is sad thing.  I'd rather fight light Hell and barely lose than to win in a landslide (land 30+ camp kills, etc).  But, some guys think they can put that on their resume' so let them have their shining moment because for many I'm sure it is all they can hang their hat on in life.  To each his own.
