Funny you should say that.  We were just up in Alexandria between Christmas and New Year's, visiting with our friends and their in-laws.

Somewhere, on top of Bear Mountain, lies my winch control cable (my buddy left it hanging out of the winch and forgot about it and it got torn off when we continued our journey).  I still have the plug, though  :rofl

I have never been out there, though this coming year I will be doing more I hope, espceially in that area. I think I know where you mean, looking at my listing in a section of another forum I am on, they list one in that area that is accessed starting in Alexandria. I will try to get out there and find that cable for ya, so hang on to that plug.  :D

Pretty uncommon for you to be able to get out there at that time of the year though. We are having a toejame winter here, less than a foot TOTAL thus far, though March and April will likely bring our snow to us this year. If not, mud season will be nice and short. I love the offroading, and will travel the mud when necessary, but do not look for it. Too much to clean on the underside of the easiliy rusted Jeep frame. Especially where you mentioned, the "shovel" area. I have brought a good portion of many backwoods roads in my area home in that, so much that only the driveshafts are visible. Though I DID get so buried in muck this last year that before I winched myself out, the Rubicon behind me was able to use my Jeep as a winch point and extract himself from the same muck. He is a far heavier rig. After getting him out that way, I was able to winch out. But what a mess. The fan blades threw thick mud all over under my hood, I was in that bad. And no, not one person took a single photo of us all being buried like that because my son was not with me this one time.  :(

Was bummed about the lack of snow  :cry

We took Hebron Rd. (although it wasn't really a road, even though there were road signs) over the mountain.

My brother's RX7, my Dad's Trans am, and my Supra

that supra was/is my favorite car I ever owned. Sadly none of us have any of those cars anymore.
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

I've got two vehicles and I love them both, however; me being nice twice lead to bad things.

1.  Buddy got back from Iraq. I let him use my truck to move to his new base. The day he was bringing it back - he got hit by a Nissan Altima.

2. Three days later, I took a coworker home after work and on the way home (~1:30 AM) I hit three deer at the same time in my car.

Both have been out of commission since because I keep having a hard time getting money to fix them.  :(   I'm hoping to get the car fixed with my tax returns (only got 300 bucks, but my fiancee is pitching in and my mom offered to help). I'd rather fix the truck first, but the car gets better gas mileage.

I'm confused..... why spend that much money and effort turning a Honda into a Merc clone, when you could have bought the real Merc you're emulating likely for a whole lot less $$$ than you probably have in that Honda?

First off - It's an Acura (Yes I know, same thing - just being picky :neener: )

Because buying a merc would have actually cost a LOT more and wouldn't have landed that car in Street Customs magazine. It would have just been a yellow Mercedes.

The goal was to do something no one else had ever done, or even began to think of. Being different was the goal, and it was accomplished on a much larger scale than what I thought was possible.

It gets a lot of hate and a lot of love, but nothing makes me laugh harder than the napkin someone left on it while I was at work.

I put it on my "Wall of haters". People will judge you no matter what you do, so why not do what you want? :)

---

The total conversion only cost me 8 grand (a lot but is cheaper than buying a merc). The seats were free (That's why people are supposed have stickers on their cars), the tires were free, I got a new set every 6 months, and some other things that I worked out with the companies who have their logo on the car. :P

The only thing that was more than what I thought it would be was chroming the engine. >.>;;;;;

Oh and the interior was done by me. :)

The toughest thing to repair will probably be the strobes.

No.... strobes are a cinch unless your lights are the sealed variety. Still not too  hard just requires some time in the oven.

No strobes but this is my daughter's car right after lighting installation at AAC in New Orleans.......

While it's not what floats my boat I'll admit it's pretty interesting, MarineUS.
