  and mine is a 140 gm 4cylinder although I think the bearing at the top of the shaft is the culprit.  is it cheaper to have mine rebuilt or buy a new case for 770?  I dont have all the presses and whatnot to put it back together so I am looking at labor plus parts.  found a set of gears online around 375 dont have a clue what the bearings cost but I figured it would be about even to buy a new.

Check the price of a crate motor . What I did with my 98 F150 but I put it together and in myself so not sure about the labor .

Oh yeah , been there many times . I hate the walk out . My Ranger was the same way but I was going the other way , across it . Took a dozer and a $1000 dollar bill to get it out 20 mile in the back wood's . Took me all night and part of the day to walk out .
