Fun fights Rud3boi!
« on: September 18, 2011, 11:17:22 AM »
Rud3Boi, those were fun fights in the MA last night.

I saw an F4U fighting a couple of friendlies while I was up in a 190A8 hunting PTs and LVTs off shore. I saw you nail one of them and mixing it up with the second. You were gaining the advantage, and I figured I would distract you. I didn't want to get too slow, for obvious reasons. However, the clueless friendly wasn't making it easy for me. I finally committed to whoa down the 190 and attempt to maneuver enough for a shot. I told the friendly to reverse in when you went vertical to evade. As I cranked the 190 around behind you, you went up and dumped flaps. I went up as well, trying to aileron roll off axis. Meanwhile, the friendly simply extended away.... Swearing under my breath, I did all I could with the lead sled 190, even though I knew it was probably futile. Still, it was fun while it lasted.

So, I grabbed an F4U myself and headed back out. I found myself about 2.0k behind you with us both climbing. Noticing that you were outclimbing me in the same F4U-1A, I glanced at my fuel... Full tank. Arrrgh.... You reversed and we engaged. The fuel load handicap was evident, but manageable, I thought. We were both flaps out, pitching up, rolling and maneuvering. You went for a shot (getting a few minor pings), and I saw an opening. I pulled hard to get the nose up and around.... and promptly stalled. I didn't have enough altitude to recover... Splash! Again, great fun. I upped another F4U-1A with only 50% fuel, but your fuel state must have been low and you RTB'd to land your 6 kills. Rarely do I get a 1v1 in the MA against a good stick, and it was a blast and well flown by you.

Funny thing... The guy I was trying to save was whining on vox about your "cheat". "He has some cheat that locks my controls!" LOLOLOL Another guy baffled by the oldest cheat of all... The skill cheat.

I fought what began as a 1v1 against Strokes flying a P-47N. I was in a 109. Dominating the P-47 was no problem, as Strokes was flaps out and slow. However, I had a P-38J making repeated runs at me, so I was constantly having to dodge it and still maintain position on Strokes. I finally got the P-47, but was flying flaps out at 100 mph in the weeds, down in a valley. I managed to evade the P-38 a little longer, while trying to get some speed, but he eventually hit me. I upped a P-38J of my own to go find him (AKAK), but he had already left the area.

Earlier, I observed Midway taunting a few guys in text. He flew his Spit9 into the area at 15k... Watching the chat, I upped a Spit 8 and went out to find him. Find him, I did. There were several friendlies in the area and Midway wasn't using good SA. I rolled in behind him. He spotted me and attempted to evade. I stayed on his six, not shooting, content to just torture. This went on for a few minutes, and my friendlies were making runs at his maneuvering Spitfire. So eventually, I elected to shoot him down before a picker got lucky.

Overall, it was a fun night and guys like Rud3boi made it something much better than usual... <S>

Only made on pass on the Bf 109F, the other passes were the two I made on the Spitfire that was trying to pick Strokes.  After I killed the Spitfire, I was making my pass on you when Strokes asked me to hold fire and break off, which I did and then loitered above the fight keeping the Spitfire that was repeatedly taking off from barging in until the fight was over.  Logged afterwards for the night.

Spent many hours fighting Rud in the DA, he's a good man and a good stick.

You fought a great fight! I had to really work to gain the advantage when I had the much better fighter for stall fighting. Moreover, it showed me that I need more DA time as I was not happy with my low speed plane handling. Combine that with having to keep an eye on AKAK's lurking P-38 and I was sweating bullets. <S>

That was not Midway!  That was a fake silly name stealer. :old:

Had it been me, you would have had a handful to deal with, I believe. :)

I admit I am currently flying under a new shady name... one that has yet to be discovered. :D

Can't wait to pwn said fake  Midway on sight.

Let it be known. :old:
