Trunk Space
« on: September 25, 2011, 03:12:42 PM »
Hello,

Me and my big mouth, I just said something I couldn't back up.  I was coming home from a robotics competition, and we were trying to get the robot in the car.  As we searched for a good place to put it, I said to my engineering design teacher "If anyone has a Jeep Grand Cherokee we could fit the robot in there- it has more trunk space than a Suburban".  My teacher said "I want those numbers on my desk on Monday".

So here I am, because you guys know a great deal about cars.  In fact, the statement I made came from a Jeep enthusiast on here in a long-forgotten thread.  Now I need to get the facts to back up my point, but I couldn't find any way to compare them.  Does anyone here know which one has more trunk space, Jeep Grand Cherokee, or Chevrolet Suburban?

I would imagine that those numbers would vary greatly with year.  Are all the seats in them?  I seem to remember you can remove the back seat of a Chevy Suburban, not sure about the Cherokee.

I just did the research and found the answer. It took all of 5 minutes.

However, I won't divulge the information to you because I feel that it is akin to cheating.

So you opened your mouth, spouted out some BS that you didn't know if it was true, got called on your "fact" being BS you didn't know if it was true and now post on an internet board to get the answer?

Good one.  You've got a career in comedy as long as you keep your idiocy the subject.

I hope your teacher gets a good laugh out of this.  I would.

EDIT:  You do know that neither of those vehicles has a "trunk" don't you?  Google "Cargo Space".

Something I found funny recently...I sold and item...gave the measurements...all sweet...plenty of space.....but.. the opening to the space was another story....did not matter how you looked at it, the hole to get it into the plentiful area of the interior was just not big enough

You could just write a paper on the theory of trunk space and the philosophical reasoning of why people think they need it

The conceptualization of a "trunk" was simply man capitulating to the pressures of society to retain materialist ideals and possessions.

just say u thought the suburban was the tahoe and u mixed them up... at least then u can be correct. At least im pretty sure my brother-in-law's 09 Grand Cherokee has more than my brothers 03 Yukon (same as Tahoe) when he has the third row in.

I have suburban it is WAY bigger than any Jeep Grand Cherokee I have ever seen.  Plus you can take out the third row of seats and get even more room.  So...  You are boned.
