Haven't edited these. Nowhere near the quality of hers, but I'd say they're not bad for a point & shoot camera.
Love your wifey's shots.

Crud, imageshack killed the quality. Oh well, at least they won't take long to load.
If anyone wants one as a background or some such just send a PM.

Is this a thing where you/she want some C&C, or just throwing them out for the heck of it?

Beautiful.

My scenery is the same all year long. Desert, mountains, desert, mountains, ect...

Comments & Critique, or Criticism...

Sorry, I visit a couple photography forums and it's common practice there for photographers to post photos expecting critiques and feedback as a way to improve their skill.  Since this isn't a photography forum I figure I'll just keep my c & c to myself unless asked.

I will say that your wife has more talent then a lot of folks who buy a cheapo DSLR kit start a facebook page and call it a "photography business".  A common practice now days that just makes me

Ohhhhh...

Yes, if you don't mind, I'm sure she would like to hear what others think could be done to strengthen her skills. She isn't, nor does she have any ambition to be a pro, she just likes to make nice albums for the family.

Love #1, not so much 2 and 3.

I think she nailed the composition and lighting with the first shot.  The road works great as a leading line drawing you in, and the colors are perfect.  My only criticism of it is that the corners are quite dark and soft (blurred) but I don't know if that was done intentionally, or was the lens used.

Not such a fan of the 2nd and 3rd.  Lighting is great but composition is wrong.   Too many leaves in the foreground make it seem cluttered and confused, I don't know where to look.  If it where me I would have got in closer and just put one leaf in the foreground/subject macro style.  Also the colors are way too over-saturated for my taste, especially with the blown highlights on the yellow leaf in the middle.  I'd tell her to dial back the post processing a bit, a good photo doesn't need it.

Anyway, my opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it and is probably wrong.   Besides...  if it's just art for personal pleasure all that really maters is if she likes it.

I did quite a bit of professional work for about 5-6 years, for quite a while I was convinced that it would become my whole career.   But in the last year or so I've become focused on other things and scaled waaay back with my photography, even sold my studio lights.   So lately I'm doing more photography for my own enjoyment then for jobs.   I have to say it's a lot more enjoyable when you don't have the stresses associated with jobs, contracts, releases, clients, deadlines etc.  To be honest I liked the photo part, but hated and sucked at the business part.

Saggs,

I just got my first dslr last month and learning all the this's and that's is a bit overwhelming.  I've seen a lot of talk about shooting raw vs jpeg.  I understand a bit of it but anything you can add would be great + any tips on shooting airshows / aircraft, architecture, nature, animals.  Would be great.  This is for personal enjoyment only but I do want good shots.
