Sorry if it came off personal, I was just responding to the idea.  I've been online flight simming for almost 5 years, only been here the last 1 1/2.  It's SS DD here or in the other ones, or in any online game that has PVP really.

Apparently HTC's policy is that if you can provide a film or screenshot evidence of someone cheating via glitch exploitation, the offender will be punished. So no problem there.

However I doubt anyone is going to get banned for swapping country-sensitive information over 3rd party applications (or doing other lame things that are allowed by the game code, but don't fit some people's idea of honour)

I believe DMGOD was muted for a couple weeks at least for just such an action. Hitech has said reporting the where abouts of a CV group, even if it is hidden away in the corner of the map NOT being used is a punishable offense. DMGOD admitted doing it and took his punishment. Before that happened I happily reported ALL CVs that were hidden by my country and use to lead other players right to them to bomb them. I didn't know it was against the rules, and I can't stand dweebs hiding CVs just for the base count. Now, I keep my mouth closed about the locations, it's a rule.

We are not talking about "cheats" here we are talking about people gaming the game to cut corners. When ever the "island" maps are up I'll bet the NOEs more than double. Why? because it's easier to run NOE along the water than it is through terrain. It's funny to see the horde hit shore line base after shoreline base. And they do it why, because its easier to get in quick and maybe grab the base before anyone can/will defend. A gamers view, win quick and as easy as you can.

From a simmers point of view we load a mission with buffs streams, high fighter cover, maybe some ground support. Flying at altitude warning the enemy that we are coming in the hopes they up to defend.

Gamers complain when they get to a base and are met with  a high cap and everyone cries the the mission was busted because of spiez!!!

I used to get all worked up when playing AirWarrior and then Warbirds.  When I came to Aces High, I knew it was up to me to change and I did.  There is nothing anyone does or can do that upsets me anymore.  I suppose it is partly because I'm in no hurry and just fly away and find something else to do.  My squaddies will hear on vox from time to time something like "Oh geez, this guy just ______________", from me, while I'm normally giggling as I turn my nose away and motor away.

I found it was me that needed changing, not how the game is played or the game or how others choose to play it.  Good thing too, as it is obvious that wanting others to change or demanding that they do is futile.

Flying with VMF-222 does help.  Every person in the squad is an adult, acts like one, and adds to my enjoyment.  Everyone.  That's a big deal to me.  One depressed, or angry player in your squad has a tendency to snowball, others join in and it ends up being a losers lounge.  xJUGGOx is our CO.  Get with him if you are interested in joining.  VMF-222 isn't really actively recruiting but the squad continues to grow.  It doesn't have to be that squad, find some place you fit, that you like and go there.

If you are responsible for your own happiness, then be happy.

While I don't doubt you can see the CV trail once you find it hidden in the mountain I question anyone really finding it there without some hmmm special help...

Warning: I hide CV's all the time. While never in a mountain, I do enjoy tweaking people.. It's my dime I'll spend it how I like.

I spent hours searching for it. Up and down, up and down, ran out of gas 2x. Hiding a cv is one thing, hiding a cv where there's a glitch is another.

BTW, hiding a cv you got while having uh err a scout help you locate it is another.

All I know is the next time I play someone in Chess, I'm taking half thier pieces. When they whine, I'll inform them it's a game and that theyshouldn't let how I act intefear with thier game.

Or maybe Monopoly.. I'll have my friend take your properties when you turn your back and throw them into the great beyond because it doesn't matter if a piece is removed. I mean hey, we know it's there, isn't that good enough?

Just saying.

well that analogy does not work because those actions you presented are against the rules of its respective game.
hiding a cv under a mountain is not against the rules. its ridiculous but not against any rule.
stealing pieces in chess is against the rules, "accidentaly" tripping on the table making all pieces fall so you have to start all over again is not against the rules but makes you look like a A hole :D that works better

Sometimes it isnt about being gamey. Its about being bored and trying out stuff to see if it can be done. Then that becomes the game. Whatever the reason, does it really matter?

There are so many things you can do without having to stray outside the confines of the spirit of the sim or good taste.
