I think the Meteor does have a place in AH, as usual it's just a matter of priorities.  Meteor crews flew combat sorties and risked their lives like other servicemen.  I just have a hard time seeing another late war plane getting added when there are so many other options out there, planes that that aren't in the game yet.  Still lots of planes from the IJA that saw significant service at earlier dates, VVS seems under represented in the early and mid war realm.  There are huge gaps in the EW and ME bomber options from the Luftwaffe, RAF, Italians, VVS, and despite the recent addition of the G4M there are still lots of good choices from the IJA and IJN.

I'm looking at planes that saw service in significant numbers for several years, with multiple countries in some cases and in multiple theaters of operations.  Things that would add substantially to WW2 "feel" of Aces High in the MA, as well as greatly expand the possibilities of special events and custom arenas.

I don't buy into this idea that a plane has to be "competitive" in the late war to make it a viable addition to the game, I expect the latest and greatest will always see the most usage but lots of planes can be competitive under the right conditions, they add a welcome bit of diversity to the game and give it some character.

PErsonaly, the Japanese and Italian plane set have some of the largest gaping holes. I mean the best torpedo bomber of the war is missing,  SM-79.
Yeah, that's right, you just got your rear handed to you by a fuggly puppet!

De gustibus et coloribus..

The 262 is a thrill to fly alone into hordes.  The Meteor ought to be too.

I take it you are all moved in and well rested.  You seem to be on your BBS game again :)

I just wouldn't fly the ME-410 *shrug*

I'd probably try the Beau at least once, but still...not really

Yak would get the most mileage for me I think :aok

So, do we really need a second jet to serve your personal tastes?

I think the BBS is being a bit selfish.

If the majority of players wish for the meteor, then let them have it. its the Majority that help keep the game alive. The majority always beats the minority.

I wanted the IAR-80 personally, but you dont see me creating topics whining about how some jet is getting added instead of my own preferred ride.

In the eyes of the majority, the ppl of the BBS would look the same to them, as the people of the BBS seem to look at them.

I can see what they'd say now..

Beau-"So you want an overwieght mossie that has a BB turret and a torpedo that it'll never use and will probably be left in the hanger for a real mossie after the first week?"

Me410"So you guys want an Overweight 110 with a 50mm cannon? why not just up a b25H with a 75mm cannon?"

Cant really say anything about the yak 3, i dont know much about it.
Point is, you guys should be thankful we're getting something at all.and that Hitech is nice enough to hold a poll for what WE want in the game.
Instead of just adding random A/C and being like "there ya go, Deal with it".

Personally, I'd love to have all of the options....  That being said, I won't be disappointed by any new additions.  As long as the game keeps progressing, I don't care whats added.  It's a shame that the Beau didn't make it, but I'm sure it'll make an appearance eventually.

Maybe a two-fer?  That'd be sweet.

It isn't even remotely possible in your mind that many of us are looking at the entire playground and not just the sand box that is the MA?  Might that be the more unselfish way of looking at it? You do realize that there are special events that run just about every day of the week right?  How many of those do you see built around the Meteor over 365 days?  It isn't about getting the plane I want.  As mentioned before, I'd be begging for the Spitfire XII.  It would be nice to get the birds that cover the most ground including the MA.

To me the selfish approach is to only think of the MA and not the rest of AH as well.

The meteor is being voted in because its what the Majority of Paying customers want.whether you agree with the situation or not is irrelevant. If the majority voted for an A/C which will keep them subscribed, then thats what HTC needs to put in. Im no data expert, but from what ive seen from scenarios and special events, Most of the time more people are in the MA than go to scenarios/events.

Dont take me for a meteor dwEEb who voted for it simply because i wanted the "latest and greatest", because like i stated, originally i wanted the IAR-80.

But what would you have HTC do? run the poll, the meteor win it, then HTC be like "lol jk, your not getting it, heres a plane the majority of you didn't even want instead"
