Also is there a cheaper card that may be just as good?

Well... not to be deliberately insulting, but the 6450 is both cheap and slow compared to other video cards.  On this chart over at Tom's Hardware the 6450 is just about the slowest.  Even the old GeForce 9800 GT is better.

Thanks folks! I was hoping to go SLI and get two. However what would you recommend if you had just a bit more money.

Unless your running VERY high end cards and need a bit of boost, SLI is NOT the answer.  Getting one card at the upper end of your budget is 200% better than getting 2 cheap ones in SLI.

Get a single 68**/69** ATI card if you want lots of gaming power. You can crossfire it, but if I don't think there is a single game out right now that those cards can't run by themselves. Battlefield 3 comes close at ultra settings and 1920x1080, but toning the resolution down by one notch gets you right back up to the magic ~60 FPS.

If your gaming needs are not that great, then a Radeon 5570/6570 will run most games on Medium/High. They're also MUCH cheaper, uses WAY less power, and is dead silent/cool.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

Getback,
if you want a real cheap yet semi-decent card, get a 6570. It has the same specs as the 6670. The only difference is in the core clock, but you can adjust it yourself. Its WAY stronger than the 6450, plz dont buy that card.
However, i would get a 6950, but its at the 250 bux range. It has unlockable components (with a bios update), can be turned into an almost-6970.
Best wishes!

Don't see my card (9800GTX+  can't find the specs - duh) on that list.  I guess it's at least better than the GT, but curious how it stacks up.  :headscratch:

Just slightly ahead of my 8800 GTS 512 if you can find that on the list.

EDIT:  The 9800 GTX+ benched 16639 (3DMark) on the 2010 chart and 16834 on the 2009 chart vs 15128 for my 8800 GTS.  I still run steady 60 fps, 1024 textures, no shadows, full graphics otherwise without ever slowing down.

I must need glasses.  Didn't see 8800GTS.  Anywhere near 8800 ultra or 9800 GX2?
