Top Gear Returns!
« on: November 08, 2011, 11:51:19 AM »
Nov 28 they will be airing the top 40 challenges they've done and voted on by fans.

If you're not familiar....
Here is their "Drive through Alabama Challenge"

So interesting that 60 minutes did a piece on it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jG0D2nRGrQ
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

I agree
"Now, if I had to make the choice of one fighter aircraft above all the others...it would be, without any doubt, the world's greatest propeller driven flying machine - the magnificent and immortal Spitfire."
Lt. Col. William R. Dunn
flew Spitfires, Hurricanes, P-51s, P-47s, and F-4s

i've seen a couple recent episodes that they've done at their home location, bashing pretty much anything american again. including the cts. personally, besides doing it for the show, i think they're jealous that they can't build reliable performance as well as we can.  :devil

i can't stomach the american top gear. i've tried 3 times. it's bland.

i think you're right. if i recall, the ford gt was troublesome to the point that he sold it. was probably a friday car.  :devil

hampster does own a 1968 mustang gt390 fastback, and possibly that charger. i think capt. slow owns some sort of mercedes.

They often have a point about plastic interiors, not just american cars.

Caddy's should be a bit more upscale imo. They do claim to be a luxury brand.

they confused me with their dodge viper review.

"This is a great car, but its an awful car!"

"I really love this car, but its an awful car!"
Then they made an episode praising its speed, then saying it wasent fast at all.

We routinely have ford GT's on one lift and lambos or ferrari's on the lift at side by side.

Even a Lamborghini Reventon looks like a kit car compared to the ford GT (which will idle all day with the a/c on) once you start taking off panels and covers.

my neighbor has an 010 cts, but his is only a six banger. he loves the hell out of it. my aunt has an 09, with the same responses. i don't think either of those interiors are plasticy.

that's them showboating for the cameras. they did the same thing with a z06 vs an audi something or other. i was kinda shocked tha owdi didn't break during the beating they were inflicting.
he basically said the vette is a pos.....but he'd still buy it over the owdi, 'cause that's what made it fun to drive.

They like to pick on America, they also like to pick on every other country they mention.  Lets not be like the Mexican ambassador and complain about it like we're being singled out.

I'm especially fond of when they make fun of Germans.
