Never found 109s and 190s to be a fun fight. 99% of the ones ive ran into try so desperately  to HO you.Only fun 109 fights ive had were from the members of the AvA.  :salute

There's lots of very good sticks flying 109s and 190s. The fact that the 190 is the #1 ord and dar porker should not reflect on those who fly it as a air to air fighter. Sure there's a lot of players who fly the 109s and you can't get them below 10k unless they run out of fuel... Nonetheless, there are some very good 109 sticks who will fight anyone in anything and, more often that not, win.
My regards,

Well there is about 4% of the community who "play to win", these folks add excitement, upredictability, challenge and fun to the game!
These folks also add color and diversity and character to the game.

The rest are the "play NOT to lose" style, these folks add predictability, boredom, repetativeness and snooze to the game, they are also indistinguishable from each other, diluting the character of the community.

:salute :salute :salute the 4%ers.  You and everyone else know who you are.  :aok

I have disdain and pitty for those who fear risk and prefer "NOT TO LOSE" coincidently the majority. No-one can tell one of you from another :(

Hey chipr, I think he was trying to point out that it was "just a game" and that some people take it too seriously, so they don't want to participate in the fun and just use it for their own fragile egos/self esteem problems.

Pappy Boyington would of been someone who surely would of been taught to "Play not to lose" because it was real and his life was on the line (not his ego). Whereas, this is a game and dying has no consequence on anyone (except said egos/self esteem).

Heavy furballs with a light sense of picking is good and healthy state for the community, but heavy picking with a light sense of furballing is bad for the community in other words.

Surviving my missions is my number one priority most of the time but I sometimes fly one-way missions to hunt me163 over enemy headquarters or shoot up the city with a tank.

Not sure how anyone could say that 109's r only ever used for picking and hoing but most of the 109's i come across will fight it out. Many of them don't take ho's.

I prefer to fight it out with a 109. The G2 is my favorite though I more often than not lose against most anything.

The only time you will see me at high alt in a 109 is when I am looking for bombers, which is also the only time you will ever see me with gondolas on as well. Some of the most fun I have had hunting buffs was done in the G2 with gondies.

No one I have seen flies the 109's (especially G series) to pick from alt or to HO. There are just so many other planes out there that are much better for those purposes ro risk doing it in these planes.

From what I read, Boyington did have a big ego and getting the most kills at that time was a priority of his. He even risked his wingmen at the time by going into furballs outnumbered so he can become #1. With that being said, he still a war hero... and a drunk lol, jk. RIP pappy
