Clarification about the Mosquito...
« on: November 17, 2011, 02:56:58 AM »
Didn't the Mosquito also use an A.I. Mk IV airbourne radar? And if it did, I would like to see it added to Aces High.

The Mk VI Mosquito was originally intended to be a day fighter, although AI radar was fitted to it from time to time and of course there were a lot of dedicated night fighter Mosquito versions. However unless AH models night time why would you want it? It would have almost zero usefulness during the day and you'd be hauling the weight of it around with you.

The range of WW2 AI radar was only a few miles, crews usually got intercept courses from ground control or from enemy radar detection equipment, switching to AI radar when they got close enough. You can see pretty much as far in AH's daytime as the range of the radar they used.

Ok, thanks  :aok

I didn't actually know the radar range on it, just wanted some clarification.
