While it may be fun to drive and have lots of power....Fords Quality control just sucks.
Take for example a 2007 Mustang GT Convertibe.
4 years old.... Babied and never driven in bad weather total of 36,000 miles.
Replace Brakes all the way around "Rotors Warped"
Replace BOTH lower control arms.
Replace COMPLETE Air Bag system (4 trips back to dealership over 4 years)
and for the Cherry on top of the Schiesse Pie! Replace the Convertible Top at Customers Expense because of a faulty Window seal.
And then top that....return the vehicle with gallons of water in the back seat...and destroyed Sub-Woofers on the Shaker 500 Stereo System.... Oh ... you want THAT fixed? That will cost another $1200.
There you have it.... At Ford...Quality is job NONE!
Toyota....here I come!
that's odd. guess you got a friday car.
having owned some form of mustang since 1979, i've owned and driven em all, from 60's stangs, a 74 pinto stang, 2 fox body stangs, and now my current ride.
the 74 went nearly 200k before the 2.3 needed rebuilding. the 60's cars did just as most 60's cars did...they rotted away. i did some repair work on em, but got rid of em when i got my 83 gl 5 liter. virtually the only problems i ever had with that car, were problems brought on by my building things bass ackwards. i upped the power significantly, upped the traction, and didn't replace the weak 7.5 rears they used to have. i blew 3 of them, then went to currie enterprises for a good ole indestructible 9"
the only problem i ever had with the 89gt, was that it stood out so much, that i kept getting pulled over. she NEVER broke on me. that includes launching at 6200rpm on drag radials. all were daily drivers. all saw more abuse and more mileage than this one's gonna see.
we've had fords in our family for as long as i can remember........and never got left stranded by any of them.
i'm extremely happy with the quality of my mistress in black, and don't think she'll let me down in the years to come.
i should also add, that she's a thursday car.
