I didn't know Radon was some new thing that warranted a fancy solution. There's a whole big Internet out there and you stumbled into your basement somehow?
Wow, you guys need help.
$4,000 bucks a pop huh? Knew I should of invested my milk money when I saw the chance.
"look at me I am making a derogatory remark to the OP"
A cheap $10 fan to exhaust air out of the basement/crawl space would work just as good, eh?
Since the 80s, I have been telling my friend to never allow guests or kids to sleep in the basement on the floor. Some didn't listen and one who was a stoner had moved his bedroom to the basement and had a mattress on the floor. He died of cancer.
I may be wrong but it is my understanding that Radon wasnt as much of a problem "back in the day" And it didnt really become a larger problem until everyone started making their homes nearly air tight with energy efficient windows. and added insulation both inside the walls and under the siding to be more energy efficient.Seems before homes used to breathe so's to speak and the radon wouldnt have as much of a chance to accumulate and would simply vent out through the walls and windows and through drawn out the furnace chimney ventNow homes are so air tight that the radon gas has no place to go and just accumulates.
The "tightness" of homes today is a good thing. There are no ill-effects from a "tight" home. In fact, the tighter the better, as you save so much on energy costs its amazing. Air infiltration is a serious cause of energy loss in a home. Air handling in the home is another issue. Radon accumulation is so simply remedied its almost ridiculous that its an issue.
Radon is an invention of the liberal media meant to harm the glow in the dark turtle industry.
