Most planes and gv's only come with the "something to kill and die in" package.

This Fi156 will change alot of the fundamental game play in the air war and ground war.  :aok

I really doubt that! 1 round from a wirbie or m-16 and it's over. Also no speed or quick maneuverability to get out of trouble. I will probably re-evaluate once in the game, but I see it going like WWI arena, flash in the pan.  :bolt:

The value in the Storch is going to be best realized at GV bases.  I seriously doubt it will be a "flash in a pan".  Also, just because it tops out at 110mph does not mean that it is a sitting duck.  Ever tried to shoot down a D3A or Stuka while in a La7 or P51?  Just when you think you have your cross hairs right on target... they are gone.  The Storch will probably be more nonrecoverable than you think.  The time on target for the Stork hunters wont be very long, the attackers are moving so much faster and the Stork will be able to turn, jink, dive, etc quite well, I bet.

It is going to take more than 1 ping to bring down, plus if it is going to be able to see gv's further out (2k?), I bet they dont get any closer than they have to.  I know I will be staying away.   :)

The Me410 will be coming along shortly... I see an update by the end of the week.   :aok

Stationing this plane on Vbases changes everything. The ability to get a plane in there air on a few seconds when the base starts to flash vs flying in from the next airfield is an invaluable asset. It WILL be taken a lot, because there is nothing better for it, and it it gives the defenders (another) huge advantage.

Instead of wondering if that flashing Vbase is being attacked by one enemy or 10, we'll now be able to tell in seconds.  This is going to make sneaking up that much harder.

Among other effects, yes. Unfortunately.

The Storch will come with:

  • 37mm option.
  • RATO takeoff pods.
  • Night flight radar.
  • Radio tuned to NPR.
  • Chuck Norris location finder GPS.
  • 4 boxes of Kleenex.
  • SAC hot padding option.

Further note.  The SAC hot padding option allows one to cook hot dogs on the engine grills as the engine will always be on and ready for take off.  This is a favored option of northern climate pilots.

I missed the part about upping at the V-bases, this will definitely change things...I hope it's a blast.

The Storch will be flown and not a hanger queen, after reviewing the updates in the Beta Arena - Aircraft in attack mode can only see GV icons at 600, which either means you learn to spot GV's on the move or hiding, or you rely on a storch in the area.

The counter effect is, if a storch goes anywhere near anything larger then a .50 cal its dead in very FEW hits.

I sure hope 410 comes out before the new version... in Beta with no bump map at all and same resolution as I use in MA, I can only get around 22 frames instead of my usual 53-59

The Kanonenvogel had 6 rounds per pod, this is not even close to being open for debate.
