Allow tanks to tow M3s....
« on: December 12, 2011, 08:58:01 AM »
So supplies and troops are handy.  In RL, a tank could have towed these, I would think.  :D

Slow tank/wirble speed by 5mph when towing an M3.  Assume the M3 is in neutral when being towed.  Would be fun for one man base take attempts.

:old:  Lone wulfs want to have more base taking fun and don't neccessarily want to be in a horde.

You could wish for 10 troops to be listed as another ammo load. Shoot HE at the ack, then switch to troops and shoot them at the maproom...

bit boring for the M3 driver though. I guess you could man the .50 and strafe shrubberies to pass the time.

M3 would be driverless.... like a drone in a bomber.  The tank driver can switch to the M3 when needed.  :aok

Tank could even pull a wirble and an M3 and suffer a 15mph speed penalty.  Maybe a bit much for one tank to pull 2 vehicles, but at least allow an M3 to be pulled.

There were specific tanks for this, so if you want an M4 to drag an M3 then the M4 would have a Crane and not a gun.

Why couldn't you just attach a chain from one to the other or a tow rope?  Simple.  Don't need to lift it with a crane... just have it in tow.  :headscratch:

most likely because tanks woudnt go into combat towing another vehicle behind them.  there was recovery vehicles dedicated to towing damaged vehicles back to the repair/rearm area not the other way around.

Sure... have vehicles just throw a towrope and you should be towable... happened in real life a lot.  :aok :pray

But your wheels and/or treads need to not be damaged.
