WW1 Should be Free
« on: December 29, 2011, 05:47:39 PM »
Like the title says WW1 should be free, HTC has nothing to lose and everthing to gain, it will add numbers to the arena and potentially add subscribers.

Server space costs money
It is 2 Cents or .02 Dollars...NOT .02 Cents!

I thought this was silly at first, my problem is that it would give a false representation to the game as a whole.

But now that I'm thinking about it, it doesnt sound like a bad idea

It makes some sense.

Gets people flying and then perhaps after a while they get curious about the rest of the game and decide to subscribe.

Clever idea. Hopefully there would be more subscribers willing to help the new guys then too. Can't think of a better place for that. +1

How about ... limiting FREE play to JUST ONE AIRCRAFT TYPE (DR 1) and dumping some AH advertising on the freebies when they log in ... a short film of action in the MA ... and a special offer of some sort.

There would probably be plenty of interest by PAYING members in helping noobs with alternative landings instruction ...

Well, a two week trial may not be enough to get a casual new player relatively proficient and hooked on the game.

Use an already existing, little used resource so that they can spend more time learning how to fly, basic maneuvers, gunnery.

Gets them on the log in page frequently, where they can see and get curious about all the other action, throw in some advertising in the arena, and once they have had some fun with the basic biplanes, they may decide to step it up and subscribe for some WW2 action.

Sounds like it could be relatively cheap and cost effective.
