I think a better way of phrasing it would be:

The spitfires overall flight performance is a good match for a new player who is unaccustomed to flying in AH.

Spitfires are ridiculously easy mode. Nuff said.
Against an average spit pilot i can take one small mistake and be instantly dead. In a spit whatever tactic youre following you simply cant lose.
The only /relative/ weaknesses are the:
-pretty average speed, short WEP. Acceleration and climb is top notch tho, also the spit16 is fairly fast.
-poor response to aileron control inputs over 380mph. Also improved on the spit14/16
-relatively weak structure, but heck dont pull more than 7-8Gs.

1) if he can do it in a 109 g6, he can do it in a spit in his sleep
2) you couldn't do either if you tried, so don't talk.

Here i got something to confess:
i cant and will never ever land ten in a spitfire. Heck ill never ever land two in a spitfire.

I try not to pick and very rarely vulch. Also im flying an eny30 ride near the deck, without constant 10 squaddies to help me. My ride cant outturn cheit and cant run from a spit9.
I dont have anything to prove.

I effin dont care what your DAM Flying Possible Husband is doing, as long as he gives me a long, fun, even dogfight, i dont care if i win or lose, whatever he is flying. I get what i want, im happy.
Stay away from me with your BS.

Geez, I thought 10 M16's and Wirble's was pretty impressive, considering they're dedicated anti aircraft

Not being mean, but 10 kills in a spitfire? and Midway rolling his eyes at debrody as if its getting kills in a spit 9 is something worth considering...

here is a video that is worth considering...

Enough of the Spitfire bashing, especially from the 109 crowd, in particular the k4 guys :)

It's all classic cartoon fighter pilot talk, taken right from the way the real guys talked.  If the other guys bird is better then yours, then getting a kill makes you that much better of a pilot

A good stick in a good bird will beat an average stick in a good bird, etc etc.

All the guys claiming the Spit is easy mode, are guys who know what they're doing and in a Spit they'd probably clobber just about anyone they run into.  Problem is they clobber just about anyone they run into anyway in their birds of choice.

Since the very good sticks are a minority, bashing folks for flying Spits is silly.  It's a good bird to learn in.  If folks stick around long enough, they'll probably challenge themselves to take on a bird that's less forgiving.  But who cares if they fly Spits.  At least Spits tend to stick around and fight  :aok
