Looking for gun suggestions (Sporting Clays)

The important thing is to choose a gun that fits into your shoulder naturally.  It's all about the balance and fit of the stock to your frame.

For your price range, you should be able to find a nice over/under that opens and closes crisply and feels balanced to you when you hold it in the ready position and the firing position.  That transition from ready to firing should feel right. 

Go to the gun store and pick up as many guns as you can get your hands on.

You can adjust to an uncomfortable gun......But Why?

I would follow his advice. Double barrels are lighter and quicker getting on target, but, if you can't get the stock to rest comfortably on your shoulder when shooting, that is not good. I have owned shotguns where I had to extend my arms well beyond the comfort level while sighting in on my target due to stock length. (I do not own any of those guns anymore) Sometimes it just a 1/2" that creates a uncomfortable gun.

unfortunately none of the gun shops around me have one. This is the cheapest one of this model I have found (new or used) so if it doesn't fit I'm sure I can sell it and still come out ahead. I am not a small guy so I am not too worried about it not fitting me. I will see soon though. Hopefully it will be here this week. I mailed the check next day air so he should have it tomorrow. Hopefully he ships it tomorrow as well and I can have by the weekend. Although my wife may not let me play with it until my birthday but we'll see.

I'm looking to get a nice O/U 12 ga for my 30th B-Day next month. I am budgeting around $1500 and right now and I have my heart set on a Browning Citori White Lightning as seen here: http://www.rockwellarms.com/Store/ProductDetails/Browning-013462304-Citori-White-Lightning-12-Gauge-28-Shotgun

Does anyone have experience with browning citori models or recommendations on other guns in the same price range? Basically looking for 12ga, 28"(minimum) barrels, O/U, and decently reliable. I will be shooting 1000+ clays a year. Right meow I shoot with a 28" "Remington" semi auto and it shoots well but a nice O/U is just plain sexy.

My father has a citori that I have no intention of letting him be burried with (just don't tell him that).

Everyone is different, but if you're like most you're going to love your citori.  Since you seem to already shoot, if you're splerging for that White Lightning, you probabley already own another, say much cheaper but still good shotgun you'll probabley want to still shoot 66% of the time (might just be me and my father, but the citori is IMO so nice it's like a tuxedo - you'll try to use it only for more-special occasions than others, IE: competitions, season openings, making impressions at a gun club, weddings, etc..).

WOW! This thing is so beautiful. The pictures do it no justice. Even the guys at the gun shop I had it shipped to were thoroughly impressed and were actually showing it off to people in the back. Once I get it clean i will try to set up a mini studio and get some shots of it. It is quite a bit shorter than my "remington" semi auto and feels really nice. Both guns have 28" barrels. I think my wife will enjoy shooting this one, she hates the "remington" because it is too long and awkward for her to hold. She is gonna let me try it out this Sunday even though my birthday is 2 weeks away. What a great woman  Anyway here it is.
