Game sounds should be mono, not stereo.  The game's internal sound positioning doesn't work with stereo sounds for obvious reasons.

You to now?? My pack has been stereo for some time and by the word of pyros mouth Miles  will play the sounds perfectly
I am full aware of sound engine specs .IF your listening to sound through non surround sound headphones the 3d positioning isnt going to work anyway but sound will work!!!! I have used several different online testers with a wide array of non and quality machines no problems reported thanks

Please read this twice so it has time to sink in Karnak
Further more let the well over 2000 people using my sounds enjoy them. Hoe do I know number you say?? Mediafire tracks the number of downloads.
Now if you cant prove your right or say something nice and true please go back under the rock

i can hear the sound's direction with no problems.  think you might be mistaken or it may have been an old rule.

for the record, I like TB's soundpack and have been using it for ~3yrs now :aok

however, I'm still using the last mono release because the stereo sounds just dont work for me.

The game already does 3D sound positioning.  For that to work, the sounds must be single channel.

X58 mobo Realtek HD Audio, stereo headphones. if I use stereo sounds it seems to confuse my 3D perception of where the sound is coming from in GVs. Also the engine sounds dont really work because they follow the view around, rather than being tied to the engine position (something that needs to be fixed by HT imo).

onboard sound is "somewhat" limited
I`d suggest Turtle Beach Ear Force Z6A Quick Disconnect Connector Connector Circumaural PC Gaming Multi-Speaker 5.1 Channels Headset
Pricey but worth it for headphone use
Regular stereo headphones are most times one speaker and one defeats the 3d positioning IMO
Pipz and Fugitive did these headphones with sound card and tell me how sometimes explosions scare them in cockpit :)
Ebay might be cheaper way to go

And a creative 5.1 or better sound card

Your better off with standard headphones. These Turtle Beach phones are a gimmick that do not work as advertised. You can do the research yourself or wait for my full hardware review that I will post in the next day or two. Simply put these headphones do not work without an already excellent 5.1 sound card. I know RTHolmes already knows which card I recommend so I wont repeat myself.

I`d suggest Turtle Beach Ear Force Z6A

I just bought this head set a few days ago they are more comfortable than the model they are replacing. For some reason they don't sound as good as their predecessor though. Big issue i have is the dye on the ear pads rubs off on to your skin. A fact I did not know until I had gone to the store & a kid pointed to me & made the remark for the benefit of his mother that mans ears are funny.

Sure enough many hours later I passed a mirror & noticed I had a 3/4" blue ring around each ear & most of the area's that my skin touched the head set.

For $100.00 dollars or there abouts I would look for something else. Only because they seem to have gone backwards from the earlier model in terms of sound quality IMO.

PS: Oh & blue ears.
