This is tragic news. Condolences.  :frown: The only people I can imagine "protesting" are the Westboro Baptist Church... best dealt with Patriot Guard Rider style IMHO:

Sorry to hear this! This is the real cost of war. Extremely expensive and nonrecoverable.

Don't do anything stupid, uptown. I know how you feel, just wanting to throw hand grenades and butcher the funeral protesting a*f*s. Don't. Call in the Patriot guard. I'm sure your buddy is tired of bloodshed by now, would you agree? I'm sorry for your loss, but this is not only your loss ; we've all lost this good man. I never had the chance to meet him, now I never will. I'm truly sorry uptown, but we're all here for you man. Just don't do anything dumb, even if you wouldn't regret it.

"stomping a mudd  hole in somebody's arse."  and   "war is not cool" sound bad examples.

I think, and quite sure, that there is a better option 9 times on 10 against the war.

This would be time to remember your friend not to "stomping" etc.

Take your time and you will find a better solution.

If not then you could "stomping" etc. with more accuracy at cold brain few week later - as a letter
to local journal with some 'nice' photos of people into the picket!

Sorry to hear that mate. I have friends in Afghan at the moment too, don't know what I'd think if something happened to one of them. You just never think it'll happen to them until it does. My condolences to you and his family.

Uptown, I am so sorry to hear about your loss.

Your friend has nobly offered the ultimate sacrifice in a selfless effort to help rid the world of tyranny and to give others a chance to achieve the freedoms that we enjoy.

I thank you for sharing this tragic news with us and want you to know that you do not stand alone in your anguish.
