new patch impression
« on: February 07, 2012, 02:54:16 AM »
The game worked a bit better before.

FPS varied in a fluid way.

Now when off-line i get poor fps but not on-line !!!   :O

If I look to the ground, fps goes low about 25 or 30 or LESS to return to about 50 when i look to the sky.

The problem is that It jumping between 25 and 50 without  mean values.

Here intel 2.2 GHz and ati 1650 or x1650 if i remember well.

 :salute

P.S.

If somebody would tell me which is the function of weapon sound, I will say TY.
In game I cannot hear anything associated with this sound option. Why we have it?

Maybe that's the sound for the .45 the pilot has when you bail?

Try turning off ground clutter from the air - that should help your frame rates while looking at the ground.

I was hopping the 88mm flak would be great vs vulchers pest control but comparing with the fleet 5'' guns is just a joke. How did germans shot down 1000s of planes with this piece of  scrap metal?!  :headscratch: I spent 30 min last evening in one, on a base with lots of low cons adjusting range, lead  and.... 0  (Zero) kills, do i sux or this is way undermodeled ?:headscratch:

The germans were shooting lots of 88s into lots of bombers in formation.

I think the 88s are adictive. I have killed a couple of buffs and fighters along with a gv or two.

Even missing it gets the cons attention lol.

Yep, it's totally different when there are dozens of gun batteries shooting at a "slow" formation of 100+ bombers flying straight and level, rather than one gun firing at a fast fighter that is NOT flying straight and level or a formation of three bombers. Also remember in real life they had more than 30 minutes of training and practice.

I like the 88s just how they are.  The last thing I wanted to see was a Manawar "Kill Club" at every airbase.  If a guy wants to take zero risk and sit in a gun, spoiling the air to air fights for other folks, then it should be hard.

I've gotten kills with the 88's just takes some practice.  :aok

....But back to the OP issue.....

I have noticed a performance hit on my PC also. Before the new version game play was good even with advanced graphic settings on and frame rates hitting a low of 36 or so. Now with the same settings I was dropping to below 10  and the game crashing. Graphics of course were then disabled by the game.

But then I carefully went over Skuzzy's hints and tips for my machine, cleaning up started applications and such, stopping I-Tunes, updated the Nvidia driver. This seemed to help getting 50+ fps with disabled graphics.

Question: is a 2006 PC with a dual core processor worth improving with a new graphics card and more ram?
I want the eye candy but am unable to shell out the cash for a new system.

You would really have to delve deeper into what kind of hardware is on your system. It's all connected. Some systems might take more advanced RAM, whereas you may have "topped out" so to speak on yours. (just using RAM as an example)

If you know the particulars you can post a new thread in the hardware forum. Tons of folks in there that are helpful with quite a few of those kinds of "should/can I upgrade?" posts.
