I would prefer a system of -1 any time some one complained about grammar or spelling.

 I am absolutely not joking, complaining of someones grammar or spelling on a bbs is very rude, and akin to some one like me complain of your complete ineptitude of the ability to create something like AH ,your lack of understanding of basic calculus and differential equations, and your lack of ability to exsplane (not intentional miss spelling after 5 tries of a non spell checker match I gave up) in detail concepts like special relativity, and the concept of different realities across multiple realities and the similarity to the synchronization systems of AH to that of GPS.

I don't  vent very often but grammar and spelling nazie's really pmo.

I have to agree with this. When I see a post that looks like the guy tried to shove it through a meat grinder before putting here, it looks to me like he does not want to be taken seriously at all. Since written English is the primary tool for communication here, this is all I can think of:

Here's the thing, knowing the difference between their, they're and there is elementary school stuff. The same goes for lose and loose as well as dozens of other commonly misused words and phrases.

So when someone doesn't use the terms properly, it either means that they are ignorant of grade school skills, or they are so self absorbed that they feel their time is too valuable to waste on taking a moment to make sure proper grammar has been used.

I would also like to point out that there are medical conditions which cause some people difficulty. However, these are rare enough to be excluded from this conversation.

Anyway, I see no need to score someone based on their ability, or lack of, to utilize the language.

Just don't get pissy if I pull out the Grammar Nazi card on occasion. (It's quite rare after all.)
